Almost a hybrid imperial pilsner/ipa in taste and aroma. not bad at all. leaves a long lasting grassy and spicy hop bitterness and while you can tell it's a lager, it's all about the hops here.

Weird that this is considered an iomperial lager even though that the bottle says ipa style lager. Taste like an ipa with a lager or east coast yeast. I smooth ipa with good hoppiness and the lager yeast makes a great balance. Then you can gawk at the woman swallowing the sword and other carnie images and think you are losing your mind not only on the beer but on the label and regret not buying the rest of the mix and match line of the cwazy beer.

Golden lager yellow body, with a thin soapy head that leaves a bit of lace. Interesting flavor, a fair amount of bitterness up front with herbal and citrus hops, and some sweet malts leveling out the bitterness in the middle. The finish is dry and some of the bitterness comes back, overall a 'different' kind of beer, not sure that i can say that i like it.

So an IPA made with lager yeast? Hmmmmm interesting! Cloudy yellow with white head. Aroma contains some citrus and herbal notes. Flavor is rather bitter with more herbal notes. The finish on the beer is also bitter. Overall this is a little odd but ok.

From Firefly. Poured a clear, orange/gold body under a creamy, medium-sized head. Good, hoppy aroma. Swear this isn't an IPA? Inituial mouthfeel was thin, but improved as we went along. Decent enough taste, some hops, and a bitter finish. Nice label, though.

Whinsical packing typical of this brewery make thiese beers a funexperience. This one, a clear amber colored beer with a medium soapy textured, white head rising above. Not much hang time, but settles into a thick ringlet and sticky film. The nose is citric. The tasting piney and citric. Well carbonated ain a medium, smooth body.

Beer of the month for May. Aroma of malts and citrus. Pours a cloudy orange/copper color. Bitter and dry right away but a nice citrus and hoppy bitterness at the end. Smooth and refreshing. Not a bad beer at all.

Meh….. this beer is nothing great it’s just a interesting label with average to bellow average beer inside. Honey brown body with the look of clean motor oil with a ½” cap that lasted a long time. aroma is soapy hops with sweet malts and hints of metal. Flavor is much of the same but add in a rotten vegetable quality. There is almost a wet cedar taste to it but quite, some coffee also shows up here and there. Brew finishes with a somewhat aggressive hop bite what manages to save this beer from utter failure. Whatever nice bottle for the collection and this wasn’t a complete waste of money.

A Beer of the month club offering for may/june 2010. Pours a nice classic dark amber, at least for a lager style brew. Short lived head, fairly crisply white, aroma was nothing to get excited about. Flavor was something of a surprise! A good bit of hops, almost to an IPA level, far different I would have expected. Worth a try again.
