New to our core lineup, Life in the Clouds is our flagship New England style IPA. After experimenting with the Collective Project HAZY IPA we dialed in the Simcoe and Mosaic hops and malt balance to optimize this juicy IPA’s pleasantly fruit forward (think citrus and melon) taste and aroma. In keeping with the nouveau NEIPA tradition, Life in the Clouds is an unfiltered beer, neither overly-sweet nor bitter, with a pillowy mouth feel. Crack one, pour it in a glass, take a whiff, hold it up the the light and take a sip! Don’t you agree?

473 ml can, from bestofbeers.dk . ABV is 6.1%. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Medium sweet flavour, again with citrus and tropical fruits, and a moderate piney / resinous bitterness in the finish.

Pours a hazy golden-orange colour with a frothy warm cap, good stay and some foamy lacing. Citrus juice nose with the oranges and mild grapefruits. Some light grassiness in the background. Citrusy taste with both fruits and their peel, giving a nice dryness. Mild bitterness in the finish with again, light grass. Hints of Belgian Ale yeast adding a nice touch of sweetness. A very nice juicy-fruity, but still hoppy New-England IPA.

The beer pours a cloudy light gold colour with a frothy white head which lasts a while after receding to a rocky film. The aroma is heavy on the tropical fruit with notes of passion fruit and mango certainly present. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is like the aroma with a heavy emphasis on the tropical fruit flavours and the grains and the bitter hop finish almost an afterthought. -

Tallboy from LCBO. Pours a massive frothy creamy off-white head, great retention, lively carbonation. Has a hazy golden appearance. Some decent sticky lacing. Aromas of tropical fruits, lots of floral and citrus notes, a bit of yeast and grass. Flavours are mostly on the citrus fruity side, some grassy and pine notes as well as a bit of yeast more towards the finish. Nice slightly bitter mouthfeel, still fairly smooth.
