Cisk Lager, launched in Malta in 1928, is a golden-coloured, bottom-fermented lager with a distinctive and well-balanced character. Its rich hop aroma and pleasant bitterness, combined with a mild astringency, make it an outstanding thirst-quencher. Its alcohol content is 4.2%. Cisk Lager was awarded top prize in the International Lager Category at the 1995 Australian Beer Awards and was presented with the Pfizer Food Science Trophy for the lager obtaining the highest number of votes in the same competition. Cisk Lager had achieved a similar dual championship recognition during the 1980 Brewex Competition held in the UK when it had been awarded gold medals for both the "Lager" and the "Best Overall" categories. Cisk Lager is brewed, bottled and distributed by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.

Clear yellow, white foam head. Typical aroma and taste, just a pale lager, but from a new country to me so I think this is great. Adding Malta to my list. (Sliema 201604)

When you look at it in the glass it is ubiquitous pale yellow lager in appearance. Perhaps I detect a mild light clean metallic olfactory, in a good way. On the tongue, it has a haylike easygoing crisp sharp veggies infringement. Light honey hints, not heavy. It possesses an almost fruitlike quality. Nice carbonation. Not bad for a pale lager. Finish has a meek brittle linger. Good session brew. S5L2T5F3O13

Canned. Yellowish golden colour, small white foamy head. Aroma is skunky hops and some malts and maize. Flavour is mainly very sweet maizeish with some mild bitterness in finish. Quite watery overall.

A pale lager from Malta that really has no distinguishing characteristics.
Aroma: The aroma is malt, hops, and some citrusy notes.
Appearance: The beer pours a pale translucent straw colour with a small head that quickly disappears.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is very thin, almost watery. Carbonation is high.
Flavour: The flavour is really just watered-down beer. The citrusy notes in the aroma are not to be tasted anywhere, just malt.
Overall: Unless stranded in Malta, try and avoid.
