I haven't had alot of maibocks so it's hard to compare...however...I really liked this beer. From the nose to the finish I enjoyed it all. I haven't had a Capital beer yet that I haven't liked...add this one to the list.

hazy reddish orange with a foamy head that disappated quickly. Mostly malt aroma but a slight sweet hint. nice malty taste with a decent hoppiness to balance it all out.

Pours a nice dark straw yellow/amber with no head what so ever. Some carbonation from the bottom of the glass. Beer is crystal clear. Aroma is definitely reminding me of what gummy bears smell like, very fruity. Taste is very malty with a slight spice hint. Finishes off dry. Very light beer that is actually quite enjoyable.

When winter starts coming to an end and I want something that isnt thick syrup black and bitter and I start craving something refreshing this is my favorite beer. This beer tastes like spring. It is refreshing and malty and is the perfect potion to take overhopped beers out of your pallete. I savor this one and in fact one of the greatest tragedies for me was when I set a six pack down on a wet floor to put on my coat. When I picked it back up the cardboard was wet and all six bottles hit the cement floor. I coulda cried. Malt, malt, malt with just a hint of hops. Like the spring wind blowing through young budding aspen trees this maibock makes me want to bring back maydances and maypoles.

Capital really seems to have the recipe for the "macro-brew" beer. This is a pale blond beer with white fizzy head that reminds me of many Miller products. Other than that this beer has a very sweet honey like scent and an easy mild flavor. A little grainy but also sweet and malty. It's easy to drink and deffinitely one that non-high end beer drinkers should enjoy.

Pours with a big frothy head .. soapy vanilla head, fast dissipation .. caramel colour .. lots of heat, cereal sweetness, aged malts .. like a dubbel that was aged afew years to long .. i hate to say it John, but i really didn't dig this .. " ya? and Grizzly Adams had a beard!"

Pours an amber color with a nice white head. Aroma of malts, hops and caramel. Flavor of malts and hops that is pretty smooth, some honey flavor also in there.

Thanks to pfoxyjohn for this one. Pours a slightly hazy orangish-red with a fizzy white head that leaves quickly. Aroma is mostly malts with a bit of fruity sweetness hidden in there. Smooth, malty taste with a nice hoppy balance that turns this into a very nice brew.

This one poured a nice amber color with a decent head. It had a pleasently mild aroma with a strong malt presence. It had a nice malty/caramel flavor with a smooth finish. Normally Bocks are a little too sweet for me, but this was tasty.

Pours a bright clear, well carbonated amber colour with almost no head. aroma is slightly hopped. Bubbly, lots of carmel flavour. Bready midpalate semi-sweet, which gives it a nice toasty character. When this beer shows up, you know spring is on its way in Wisc!

Spring is here in the form of this golden-amber Maibock from Wisconsin's Capital Brewery. Head is white, very short-lived and fizzy. Nose is malty, of course, but fruit, honey, and spice as well. Full, rich mouthfeel and medium body; sweet, but not cloying or syrupy. Taste is caramel throughout with hops up top. I got to know this beer well last spring with a quarter barrel almost all to myself from April Fools Day to Memorial Day. This is as solid a Helles Bock as any you'll find in Bavaria. Goodbye to our too-long, too-cold winter!
