A unique beer, Kloster Weizen is a true Bavarian style Weizen beer. Intentionally cloudy (hefe weizen) in appearance, this beer has a "spicy" flavor and is very refreshing. It is popular to add a slice of lemon to a glass of this beer.

Perhaps the most diappointing of all this brewers selections. This is my least favourite of any weiss beer I've had. Couldn't taste the wheat and the head was poor.

Brought out of retirement and definitely improved aroma and appearance but the flavor still misses. Not dynamic and a little funny. The wheat is strong but can't overcome the other failing flavors.

Reviewing from memory, as this brew has been retired. Not a great loss, as this was a sub-standard hefeweizen. Good golden color but an unsubstantial head. Light aroma of fruit and spice. Taste considerably lighter and milder than usual for the style, but still crisp and refreshing. Lacks character, however; simple, clean, but unmemorable. I hope Capital tries again with a more true-to-style effort.

The aroma of wheat is evident in this one, but the taste is not there. Colour is dark golden, big full white head. Aroma is mild, not a lot of wheat, soft fruit. Taste is a little unbalanced, finishes tart. a little dissapointing.

Has a nice smell of wheat and lots of malty taste. Nice and cloudy like a hef should be.

This was an excellent hefe if I may say so. Excellent wheat beer with tons of citrus- especially lemon and orange. slight spice in the foreground and nice clean finish. mmm... i havent had a hefe in a while...

Pours lively, lots of swirling bubbles in an opaque, pallid yellow. Aroma of lemons, fresh and vibrant with pronounced hops. Distinct hoppy flavor with a pinch of vanilla for good measure, very nice! Somewhat bitter finish, closes nicely. Overall a good experience, sticks with the bavarian brewing tradition but adds a typically Capital touch.

Pours yellow and cloudy with debris. The aroma is grassy and sweet. Thinnish body and moderate carbonation. Flavor was right on track for a Bavarian-style with plenty of lemony sourness, but it was lacking in balance and depth.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow-gold with a thin white head and no lacing. Aroma is very mild for the style with a strange hard-candy note. Flavor is the more traditional banana and spice. Sweet finish. Medium-bodied and smooth. A hit-or-miss hefe.

Average color and smell of a wheat beer. Great taste, and great mouthfeel. Love this brewer, highly recommended.
