Well, unlike the brewer's desription of "huge", this is an O.K. beer that could be better. The aroma has a little cofee, a little root beer, some Brandy, alcohol. The color a nice Brandy. The taste starts with the same- coffee, root beer, and as with another high-alcohol Wiscosin beer (New Glarus' Barley Wine), a little "metallic" taste. This does the job in the alohol deartment, and is by no means bad, but could be much more (esp. for 10 bucks a six pack).

I've had this beer quite a few times over the years. And ecspecially recently when i bought a sixer of it on sale. Pours a dark brownish black colour with a meidum sized tan head. Aroma is decent malty and nutty with some sweet notes to it. Taste is full and very rich. A very filling beer with dark roasted malts all the way through.

Pours into a deep dark color, but still keeps it's transparency, it looks almost like dark brown purple. Taste malty and little black pepper on the smooth slighty thicker brew. Because of it's smoothiness, and the lower carbonation I think I like this one better out of all the other capitol beers I've tried.

Another Wisconsin beer from pfoxyjohn. Pours a deep clear amber with a decent head and some lacing. Slightly sweet and toasted malts with a bit of toffee and hops in the aroma. Taste is smooth and malty with a touch of sweetness and toffee then a slight hops finish - A nice doppelbock.

Dark brown color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolately and some alcohol. A medium to full bodied dopplebock. Malts are fruity, caramel, cherries and raisins. Nice balance. Smooth tasting. Not a lot of alcohol flavors, but there is a rum like quality to this beer. Complex flavors intensify as this one warms. Interesting beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Pours clear brown with decent head and lacing. Smells earthy and grassy, the hint of menthol is weird. Balanced taste, just not very good. Watery, tangy, lingering.

The dark color masks the rather mild drinkability of this beer. Nice rich color, with moderate head, and a smooth, somewhat sweet finish made this one a good, drinkable beer.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a creamy light tan head and very nice lacing. A mild and unoffensive aroma is followed by a balanced malt flavor. A hint of crystal malt. Light-bodied and moderately carbonated. A very drinkable, yet uninspiring beer.
