Cherry red with red foam head, that is quite long lasting. Aroma is sour cherry, likewise the taste. But a nice sour cherry taste, quite agreeable. Short aftertaste. (Velp 201405)

Blood purple pour with strong carbonation and a pinkish hued head. Lemon forward aromas accompany an acidic mouthfeel. Mouth puckering tartness with a bitter cherry finish. Notes of hay, grass, lemon, and a very dry finish. Definitely a top tier kriek.

Deep purple with red high lights with a very tall, very noisy short lived cap. Big sour cherry nose, soft soap, blackness, mild funk, aroma is nice but its not completely winning me over. Taste is what I was hoping for, intense sour, cherry, and only a mild vinegar. So dry and crisp. Reminds me of a white wine with hints of cherry....but then again I don’t know much about wine. The vinegar lingers for ever in the after taste. Style is growing on me I like it a lot better then I did a few years ago. Funk really coming out when warm. Cherry vanishing not nearly as potent as I thought it would be.

Had a few times over the years, time to swing away.. . pours a deep burgundy, light drips of foam .. . tart cherry, wood, balsamic vinegar, raspberry, and sweet wet barrel .. . light puckering effect on the cheeks, quality stuff.. . i enjoyed this beer, like all cantillons, actually, does cantillon make a bad beer?? the answer is noooo .. . he's better than good. He's a Crumb.

at first, no evidence of cherries except on the label. musty horseblanket and lemons on the nose. flavor has sour and tart cherry, but little or no sweetness. nice fizzy dry feel. even though served at 48, it still became more complex as i drank (it started as a one trick pony and grew on me). still overpriced, but it was enjoyed.

I guess Lambics are an acquired taste as I did not enjoy this beer one bit. I noticed this particular beer has received very good reviews and that is why I tried it, however, it just wasn't for me. I'll stick to stouts and IPAs from now on. On a good note - the beer smelled quite nice and the color was pretty - just didn't look/taste/feel like a beer.

I love the aroma here, loads of tart cherries and some funk. Reddish color topped with a thin pinkish-white head that settles to a ring around the glass. This is very tart, acidic and dry. Tart cherries and sour funky flavors are in line with the aroma with some wood character. Very nice. Probably wouldn’t have wanted more than the 375ml bottle I had though.

The last of the Cantillon. I'm pretty sure this is the one with the suggestive label. I read somewhere the other day that these labels were banned in the US because some of them were innapropriate. Poured a bright red colour with some pink undertones. Decent sized head. On the nose there is lots of berry fruit again which made me think that there may be some tartness. Not quite though. Some grapefruit, and lots of strawberry. Not as sour but amazing carbonation. Little spritz and bubbles on the palate. Very nice! Courtesy of pfoxyjohn.

Apr 26, 2009 Special thanks to cquiroga for this one. Opens nicely, no prob with the cork. Wool horse blanket and mild sweet farmy aroma. Darker hazey brown purplish but not maroon. First look is mouth watering. First taste is simply lovely. Delicious almost vinegar and sizzly cutting carbonation. Burns tongue! Brutal sour special prodding bite of a finish. Nicely done. No hint of alcohol! Why do they make any other beers but sour and lambic? This beer rocks!

Another score for Cantillon with this beauty. I’d have kept this one in storage for about 2 years, so for Thanksgiving it’s a good time as any to rip into this one.
The beer pours out a slightly hazy reddish/brown color with a slight pink at the edges with a pink foamy cap. Aroma is bitter/acidic (stomach acid) with some cherries, dust, and funk. Flavor was dry as a bone, with the subtle cherry flavor, lemony, and acidic. Great beer, enjoyed the bottle but not sure more than one I could do.
