Our India Pale Ale packs typical IPA balls but strikes a better balance between dryness and drinkability. It’s every bit as rich but a little less bitter than other American interpretations of the breed, and here’s why. We are smarter, better looking brew masters. It also doesn’t hurt that we use 2 row barley with no goofy processing. And then we employ a 2 week dry hop process before we put it in the can, with love for you, our beer loving friends. There is no fish or fish flavor in Snapperhead. We chose this cartoon figure to represent the brand in a somewhat random marketing process we call ’non-sensical ideation’.

Pours a nice clear golden amber with a thick, persistent, just off-white head. Aroma is not strong, a little hoppy and a little malty. Flavor is somewhat hoppy, not as hoppy as most IPAs I have tried, a little bitter, and a bit tinny - perhaps due to the can. Texture is fairly smooth but just a little fizzy, leaving a slightly hop-bitter, slightly tinny and barely tingly finish. Potable, but not the best.

The poured an orange color with a white head. Not much to the aroma but some citrus as expected. The flavor has some off taste, what the hell is that? Despite that some mild citrus shows up but very little bitterness. The description says this IPA has "balls" I don’t think so. This pretty much sucks!

Thanks to Blue Lou for this can o craft .. . Pours a medium honey yellow, cloudy, with low head and no lacing .. . nice flavour of fresh honey, chewed honeybee, willow sap, shaved bark and this strange but very tasty maltiness that fits perfectly .. . severed left arm and gouged eye. .. an easy drinker, fun, and something i would have no problem drinking by the pool or beach, ya, the beach would be real nice with this.. . there is something to this brew, i really enjoyed it, thanks paint man!! .. .

Dave, whenever I have a bee in my bonnet... I find it helps to take my hat off."

    "Meaning...?"

"Meaning I take my hat off, the bee flies out... do I need to draw you a picture?"

Nice orange pour with a decent head leaving some big chunks of lacing. Some carbonation. Piney, grapefruit hops aroma with a caramel malt sweet nose. Taste is hoppy bitter - pine and citrus - then offset by a slight sweet maltiness. Slight metallic bitter linger.

Characteristic dark orange pour with a good white head that hangs around. The aroma is a bit more caramelly and malty that usual but good background hints of pine and citrus. The taste is sweeter than an IPA usually is with a good caramel/milk taste and a nice hop bite at the end. So far, Butternuts brewing is 3 for 3 with me.

This was a pleasent surprise. I have been stirring clear of IPAs of late as they have all tasted bitter. There was no hint of that with this gem from Upstate NYThe balance of malt to hops was well done. Mild to moderate carbonation made for a good mouth feel. This could stand on its own as a cocktail very well.

The aroma was strong and quite hoppy and a bit harsh. The appearance was a very nice golden color with a thick, creamy head, which lasted forever. The taste did not match the aroma at all. In fact, it was quite smooth and not in the least harsh. There was a slight bitter aftertaste, but all in all very enjoyable.
