better than expected from this otherwise boring brewery. a little inconsistency with the two bottles i've had, but both were aromatic and piney, bitter dry lasting finish.

good Imperial IPA very strong. poured a brownish orange, with big fluffy head. you can really smell the yeasty citrus. you can taste brown sugar, malts, and... i want to say hay. pretty bitter too! a ball-z beer, very bold.

It had some west coast barleywine aspects but i didnt think it was at all this strong!.... Really bold classic flavor and strong husky mouthfeel lets you know its there. Big caramel malts and 'dark green' pine taste. Sticky citrus and even a little woody in the background. Solid beer

Exactly what i was looking for an imp IPA. Pours a hazey copper colour, with a fairly large off white head. Texture is pleasent, clean and refreshing. floral hoppy aroma initially upon opening the bottle. grapefruit, lemon, ripe hops and earth are noticeable. Ripe citrus fruit in the finish.

As far as organic beers go, this is easily my favorite so far. Most organic beers so far have been extremely boring and lifeless, but this one grabs you by the tongue and screams DRINK ME! Pours out a rusty orange/burnt copper color with a nice two-finger head which melted away at a nice pace. Aroma is nicely hopped with the biggest hop aroma being a piney aroma, but there was some lingering grapefruits as well. Flavor was hoppy also, with pine and citrus being prominent with a sweet malt kick near the end and a slight alcohol bite. Nothing overpowering with this IIPA. It's incredibly drinkable like an IPA but dangerous as hell at 9%.

A powerful Double/Imperial IPA this one is. Pours dark brown with lots of carbonation and leads to a nice thick head. There is a slight amber hue to it. GOes down very smooth with a thick lasting IPA hoppy taste. Flavor is excellent. Worth a try no doubt, a little pricy though.

Poured a lightly hazy, amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, sticky caramel malts, and some alcohol as well. Mouthfeel was thinner, and the hops were subdued. Maltier up front, with toffee, some caramel, tobacco, resin, citrus fruits, and also some alcohol in the finish.

Out of the fridge this pours a cloudy amber, but warms into clarity. Good head. The aroma is a dose of piney hops and big malt. The flavor is mostly malt, a bit of barelywine overworked yeast, hot hops and hot alcohol. Lacks the finesse of the best of the style.

Yet another product from Butte Creek and while some of their stuff is a bit off at times; I look forward to this big 10th anniversary IIPA. The aroma first is maltier than I expected with some malty overtones on the nose with some citrus grapefruit or orange overtones coming through with some piney attributes as well. The appearance is a cloudy reddish-orange with a late arriving head that is bubbly and off-white in color and dissipates to a light lacing that leaves lacing on the glass. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with some nice balance between hops and malts which is becoming more common with West Coast IIPA's as I try different ones and has a palate that is a bit on the dry side and is actually pretty good. The flavor is piney, malty, bitter, hoppy, and of grapefruit with an aftertaste that is a bit alcoholic but not too bad with a finish that is clean, crisp, as well as dry and pretty standard for the style. Overall, not a bad brew here but not that exciting and I have had better for sure but, nonetheless, easy-drinking IIPA here and quite good.

An amber color with a yeasty aroma with some brown sugar and oranges. The flavor is rather sweet with some alcohol showing through. A good bit of oranges and lemons in this one. It was ok but Ive had better Double IPAs.
