The beer pours a very dark brown colour with a 4cm light brown head. When held up to a strong white light, the beer is translucent. The aroma is roasted malt, caramel, cardboard, cereal grains, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, crisp, with average carbonation. There are notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit in the flavour, with a bitter cardboard taste in the finish. I like it but was hoping for better. -

Bottle. Colour – clear dark red with brown hues, nice effervescence, and a decent white head that lasts. Aroma – very grainy with biscuits and cereal with a lot of sweet caramel notes. Hop notes are earthy. Mouthfeel – medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour – nicely balanced between the caramel malt sweetness and the bitter hop finish. Maybe a little coffee in there as well.

Pours a nice 2 finger thick frothy tan head and has a fairly dark amber appearance with ruby highlights. Lively carbonation. Aromas of roasted malts, hints of coffee and very faint resin hints. Flavours are mostly the same as aromas, lots roasted malt notes, some sweet malts, notes of raisins of other similar dry fruits. Fairly smooth and slick sensation on the palate. Big bubbly mouthfeel, somewhat fizzy as well. Very good.

Pours a dark brown colour with copper and ruby highlights. Nice creamy beige head, long lasting with some creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with lots of molasses coming out. Hints of nuts, coffee and chocolate. The taste is milder with some dark grain notes, but overall watered-down with very light dark fruits. Some coffee tart. Overall refreshing dark brew.

Quite dark ruby, appears black with lacing light brown foam head. Aroma is weak, caramel, toast. Slightly sweet in taste, little bitterness, some wood. (Moscow 201402)

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Dark brown colour, big to moderate tan head. Nice aroma of slightly burnt caramel and brown bread. The flavour has also notes of caramel, fresh black bread, and burnt brown bread toast. Not very sweet. Maybe not so exceptional, but a drinkable and decent dunkel. Should not be drunk too cold.

Beautiful dark brown color, much foam. Aroma has caramel and cookies in it. In the taste I found some bread and also caramel. Very smooth and round aftertaste. Really good beer.

All Czech beers seem to be very solid and this one is no diffrent. Very nice dark colour, with nice creamy head. Very solid flavour but drinkable, but lighter then a porter or stout. Best of all worlds

I love this stuff. Not really a dark lager, this has more depth than that. More of a porter but maybe not as full bodied as some. Beautifully balanced hops/malt nice ccoc taste. Hops big and clean at finish.

Smooth dark lager with a refreshing bite to it. Chocolate overtones complement the rather bitter hops making this a wonderfully balanced beer. Reminds me of some porters and a schwarzbier. Nice buy
