I'm usually not a fan of "Christmas" beers, but I really enjoyted this one. Dark ruby/caramel color, with a nice full light colored head. Nice carbonation all the way through. Rich, but not sweet. Spices on the nose and pallet. Nice lace. Strong, but the alcohol is not apparent. A very enjoyable winter beer.

One of the best things about Belgian beer is their Christmas Ales....they do them like no other. This one is a solid red-brown pour with a thin tan cap that lingers. A plethora of spices, malt, yeast, and hops brings out the aroma. The flavour is sweet caramel malt, spices, and yeast with a bitter finish. Better than I exected.

330 ml bottle, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). ABV is 8.5%. The beer starts pouring out of the bottle by its own will. Dark chestnut coloured beer, hazy when the yeast is poured in the end. Moderate beige head. Strong aroma of anise, "Christmas" spices and liquorice. The flavour has again notes of anise and various "Christmas" spices. Not too sweet. The alcohol is well hidden. Nice beer, but should not be your first choice if you hate anise.
