Richly mahogany in color, Brooklyn Brown Ale is richer and hoppier than it's mild and maly English forebears. Chocolate and coffee flavors punctuate the roasty malt background.

It had a great nice aroma, with a small light colored head. Nice carbination level. This one wasn't sweet enough for my taste. It had a fairly bitter aftertaste. I didn't get the nutty caramel taste I was expecting. Note: as I was putting away the bottle, I noticed the "best by date" was Aug, 2006. (it's March 2007). So, in fairness, I'll buy a fresh one and give it another try. I guess I'm going to have to watch the dates at this store.

Clear dark ruby red/brown with small light brown foam head. Aroma is caramel, some floral. Taste is like any other brown, nothing outstanding. Short aftertaste. (Copenhagen 201405)

355 ml capped bottle, as a 5,6 % ABV. Poured in a half pint glass a clear and reddish-mahogany coloured Brown Ale with a one finger beige and fine foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is solid roasted malts, caramel, notes of roasted coffee beans, riped dark fruits. The flavour is roasted and caramel malts, bready, dark chocolate and a touch of smoke. The mouthfeel is quite thick and fulled. The texture is oily. This medium to fulled bodied Brown Ale has a dry roasted malts and light bitter finish. A pleasant and flavourful Bristish Brown Ale in a convincing Eastern U S interpretation. Good job !

Had this one carefully tucked away in the beer cellar for a while, and will want to revisit it fresh. Murky brown color, most of the carbonation gone, just a trace of lace on top. Very sweet raisin and caramel aroma, but a more balanced flavor juxtaposing sweet and dry elements: raisin on the one hand, wood and nuts on the other. Still a bit of tingle to it, medium body, and some lace on the glass.

Poured into a glass and just like the label read it's brown. Light coffee and chocolate taste with a good head. It was just a little bit sweet with a good malt finish. Bet it would taste good with a piece of pie.

Not seeing the 97/98 percentile scores. Maybe it was a lil too cold. Came across as a decent brown. Caramel and light roasted coffee with hints of chocolate. Average body, with a pleasant aftertaste.

An enigma, this one is. It's tasty, and sweet one moment, then turns on you like a Scorpio woman. Reasonable mouthfeel, but a lingering bitterness I didn't really enjoy. A beer that helped get us out of the dark ages, and worthy of classic status, even if it is a brown ale.

This is the best brown ale that I've had. That being said, it is still a brown ale. Let's face it. It's not the most popular style in the world. Everything about this beer is spot on for a brown. The pour is thick. The appearance is a little flat. But the aroma and flavor are superb. Not to beat a dead horse, but it's just a brown ale.

Tried at KnoxBeerCrew and Bearden Beer Market small tasting to welcome Brooklyn to East Tennessee - finally. Medium clear brwon pour with ample off white head and delicate lacing. Nice lightly roasted malt aroma, with a very slight near-burnt toast quality, lightly sweetened malts, a touch of dark chocolate and a very slight smidgen of weak coffee. Taste mimics the aroma, with the malts the aggressor, and nice earthy hops light bitter and linger to offset any sweetness. Nicely done - Welcome to East Tennessee, Brooklyn!

This poured a brown color with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, nutmeg, and chocolate. The flavor is a bit sweet with more toffee, chocolate, and caramel. The aftertaste is also rather sweet. Overall a nice brown ale.

Nice top, good aromas, great flavor. The best by date was a month old, but still this was an excellent brew. Well balanced , and chocolate and roasty as promised. Not any hops i could pick up from bitterness. Will highly recommend. Now to find some on tap.
