Everybody likes to cheer for the underdog, but sometimes, the reason that an underdog exists is very apparent. This is described as a ‘hoppy’ beer, but to those of us who have tried it, it is anything but. A slightly clouded copper colour with a thin tan coloured cap that fades away quietly. The aroma is heavy on the bready malt, and light on the citrusy hops…very light. The flavour is a nice balance between the bready malt and the hops, but it’s just a ‘nice’ balance, not a good or great balance,

Picked up a growler at the brewery. Pours a very thick head, pretty creamy. Has a dark pale appearance. Good lacing and hardly any carbonation. Fairly strong hoppy aromas with mild malts. Sort of bitter hops flavours, very citrusy. Bitter mouthfeel as well, but in a good way. Still pretty smooth. Goes down fairly well for 5.2% abv for an APA. I would try this one again over their Wildcard Ale.
