Starting with our award winning IPA recipe, Hop Czar shakes its fist at anyone who dares call it just another common over hopped ale. This Emperor of IBUs is tripple hopped which produces a crazy, big, aggressively bitter, yet drinkable flavor made only for those with a Royal palate. Brewed with three different malts and four hop varieties, Hop Czar has a deep malt background with enthusiastic citrus and floral notes paired with uber high hop bitterness. Hop Czar Imperial IPA, All Hail the new Emperor of the Beer Isle.

Love the Tsar Nicholas label. Beautiful rich gold color, coppery with a slight haze, and a thin dense cap. Sour caramel & orange aroma. Quite bitter flavor and yet somehow mellow without much sweetness. Toasty. Sticky, tingly bubbles, weighty. Overall, this is marred by something like dishwater in both the aroma & flavor. The familiar IPA goodness is lacking. Maybe needs re-review, but I'm disappointed.

this one likely had a little age on it. it had the requisite thick chewy body and resiny-ocity to it, but it was all bitter and malt in the aroma and flavor. the hop aromas and flavors had obviously faded. too bad - it was still decent and seemed like it could bevery pleasant fresh.

Cloudy orange iipa with a soapy white head. Light hop aroma and very light flavor. A resiny bitter that isn't too strong. Just enough to qualify for the style but definitely one of the weakest in the field.

Alright. Now getting closer to recently tried brews. My wife's uncle almost always has this stocked in the fridge. Had one last night even. Pours a vibrant orange-golden colour. Big white head. Nose is huge, pineapple, grapefruit and other tropical notes. Taste is bitter, but not overpowering. Perfectly balanced brew.

Big head, rocky and off-white, and it left a ring. Clear copper-orange body. Nose was hopped and piney, along with grapefruit. Mouthfeel was decent enough, not spectacular. Flavour echoed the aroma, and the finish did have a piney resinous quality along with the high ABV. Second half of the bottle was tastier than part one.

Another beer picked up on my trip to Seattle. And another beer where I must question the freshness. Aroma has plenty of citrus and floral hop notes but also some sweetness. The same caramel sweetness is evident in flavor along with huge floral hop bitterness. Great, resiny bitter finish.

A brew that needs to lean a few of the social niceties. This brew wants to burn your tonsils out, but then abruptly stops short and mellows out to well balanced brew. Only to do it all again with the next sip or guzzle which ever is your state of mind at the moment. -- all in all a good experience!

I like Bridgeport, we IPA drinkers all should like Bridgeport. They probably are the grandparents of the modern West Coast IPA. But I didn't care for this one. Price aside, it was disappointing, and actually hard to drink. Overly bitter finish, and unfortunate hop flavouring.

This beer poured with an orange/copper colored body topped off with a thin off white head that left left significant lace. Aroma is citrusy hops the whole way through. Mouthfeel is fairly thin given the style. The flavor is bitter grapefruit with some pine and caramel flavors coming through as well.
