It all started on October 12, 1810 with the wedding of Bavarian crown prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. The whole city of Munich partied for a full 5 days. Maybe it was the beer that was specially brewed for the occasion that saw the celebration repeated each fall since then.

Ok, I'll admit that this is the only entry for a Brewsters Oct brew... no idea what the real name is, but its the same one they've been brewing for a couple of years now. Got me a nice clear deep amber beer with the usual lack of crown due to the rim-high pour. The aroma was very weak with subdued caramel malts and faint hops. This is a terrible beer when ice cold but obviously better when warmed. There were alot of toasty malts and a chunk of weakly spiced hops - very two dimentional. The hops did become more peppery and did seem to drive the flavour especially near the end. Has a short lived strong hop finish.
