really? a 4.4? no way this beer does ANYTHING good to distinguish itself. this is substandard. 6/09: still can't believe the 4.4! gave it another shot, and it was worst in show, right behind the no-balance porter. thin, bitter, no balance here either. not a blonde, but a pale. crap either way.

The second 4-oz sample in a flight of all seven offerings from the brewpub, this quickly grabbed my vote for "best in show".

A classic American Pale Ale, and yet making sure that it wasn't your typical Cascade-ridden hop-juice that so many other brewpubs seemingly push on a multi-barrel basis.

Quite nicely balanced, with the malt making sure to give way to the hops (Chinook and Centennial, if I'm not mistaken), but not shirking away in the corner, either. Hints of spice (mint?) in the finish, which may be accidental or not, but lends itself nicely in the finish.

I enjoyed this enough that I got a full pint of it later on, for more a more in-depth examination and apprasial...:) Recommended.
