Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9
Comes out of tap hazy apricot with a thick eggshell head. Strong aroma is quite hoppy and resiny with a firm fruity undertone that is mainly citrus plus a hint of pear. Flavor is boldly evergreen, a little bitter, slightly fruity and slightly malty. Texture is firm and rather fizzy. For hardcore IPA lovers.

Dark yellow, copper indeed with brownish foam head, staying and lacing to glass. Aroma is sweet, not hoppy. Taste is bittersweet, with some banana and apple apparently, interesting combination of hop and fruits. Shorter bittersweet aftertaste.

Well since I'm at it, I might as well scratch something down for this one too. This had been sitting in my friend's cellat for some time. The only prominant flavor was caramel, and lots of it. There was just no room for any of the alcohol flavor under that dumptruck load of caramel. Some bittering at the end. Not particularly exceptional, but at least that 9% is hidden well.

sampled on 10/1/10. 660ml bottle with mitch. this has been sittin around a while, it has a best before date 2/2/10. batch #297. pours a orangeish/amber color. thin head. aroma is citrus/floral hops and sweet. medium body. taste is malty and sweet, citrusy. mouthfeel is full. aftertaste is a little sweet. this one has started to morph a little, but still pretty good. would have been nice to sample fresh.

Sampled on 10/1/2010. This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 660ml bottle. Best before 2/2/2010. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a some floral hops. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet, caramel, touch of pineapple. The hops are herbal and piney. There is a little age on this bottle so it's starting to make that morph to a barley wine. The hop character is going away, but there is still a really nice hop profile as the malts start coming up. A touch of orange. A little sweet at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Above averge IPA but only slightly. Great aroma, lime and orange hops, bitter but mostly sweet. Stong malt and great thick mouthfeel. Different yet familair. The strong alcohol seperates it from many others. Like it, will have it again, on its own fatastic, against other IPAs..... average, but style points for the individual subtleties.

Poured a very hazy golden light brown. Had more of the visual characteristic of a wheat beer, though much darker in color. Aroma was mild and sweet. Flavor was not nearly as strong or sharp as you'd expect from an IIPA, but very good. I would say fairly balanced for an IIPA

waaaay maltier than i like in an ipa or a iipa. that being said, it was in all respects a well constructed beer. tons of maris otter malt, quite sweet and a little thick=no room for any floral or citrus hops at all, but there was a little bittering balance in the finish. decent beer, but not one i'll go back for.

261 20/09/10 Poured out a solid amber brew with a fair sized light tan head which is quite thick and has some decent retention and messy lacing. The aroma made me drool instantly but did not blow me away... and that drooling has now stopped - maybe I was just really craving an IIPA??? Solid malt bill followed by the sweet aromas of slightly sour orange candy, fake lime, trying to convince myself of melon but can’t quite do it and a shit load more malts. Still, it comes across quite sweet which is nice. There also a bit of alcohol in the nose as well. The taste is pretty good with the most notable quality being the oranges. Those oranges come with an interesting spice similar so something in cigars (there is no cigar flavour here at all), some obvious alcohol, spruce, heavy heavy malts - wow - nears toffee, interesting spice.. is this actually a IIPA or a barley wine? Definetly walks a line between the two. Too bad about this alcohol taste. Beer has a good chew to it with the beyond medium bodied thickness, finishes with to much alc but lots of bitterness. A good brew that is not anywhere in the same league as a really good IIPA but still really drinkable for every single sip. Long bitter finish. I’m almost annoyed that I have two more. My empty glass smelled just like honey. Another BrewDog beer not involving Whiskey that fails to impress.

A hazy golden orange body. not much carbonation, head was fizzy and it disappated quickly. Aroma had some fruity hops, flavor was sweet, but the hops really didnt come through, smoke, and grass present as well. Overall it was kinda unusual, pleasant enough but not really a IIPA though.
