Reddish-brown,not much head, leaves beige patches on the surface which last forever...Some ripe cherries aroma with a bit too edgy bitter mouthfeel, that kills a large part of the sweetness;despite high abv 11% alcohol well hidden...Not a great christmas beer but not a bad one either...The label reproducing a village outdoor scenery of the past is fabulous...

Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention and lacing. Aroma of weird deep sugary malt which almost taste like adjunct. Taste is a mix between some medium sweet malt with some adjunct like-sweetness. Body is quite thin for the style with some average carbonation and no alcohol could be detected. I thought this was generally bland but not as bad as I had expected.

2005 edition, well at least written 2005 in small on front label. Wow ! A huge head is created with a few millimetres of brew at the bottom of my glass. Beige creamy head which lasts forever. The colour is dirty caramel brown and quite cloudy. Head won't go down, so lets do the aroma thing. Dark fruits like raisins, plums, then nut, caramel malt, Belgian yeast and some light sourness. Very active tiny bubble carbonation with a thin mouhtfeel. No burn what so ever, and quite mild taste. Actually, kind of like burnt rubber or plastic. Very weird. I will finish the bottle just to get loaded. Just this once.
