This is definitely not my favorite wheat, but it does the job when you don't have much to choose from and you are craving a wheat beer. The flavor has always seemed a bit sour for my taste. It's worth a try if you haven't had it yet.

Pours a cloudy amber with a good head. The aroma is nice enough. Some clove like aroma, a little bit of bandaid. The flavor has enough wheat backbone to keep from being lifeless, but it comes across watery at times.

I down-rated many aspects of this beer...not that they were bad, just lacking. This beer was good it's just you barely know you are drinking it with the lack of taste and feel. It is a lovely, clear yellow with white head. It smells like any swill beer. Again, the flavor was good but barely there. Today was cold and windy...this beer would hit the spot on a hot day after work. It's probably the first beer by Breck. Brew. that hasn't totally blown my mind. Maybe I just don't dig hefeweizens. I'd drink it again.

09.30.05 Tap at brewpub. Light hazed gold. Not much wheatiness but nice tart grass and some citrus. Refreshing and light body is plenty effy.

Completely average. Golden color that is cloudy. Medium head. Didn't smell like most Hefeweisens. More like a wheat. Tasted like a light wheat, as it didn't have much flavor and none of the banana peel flavor I find most hefes have.

Sampled draught at a BBQ joint, Colorado Springs, CO.
This was the only non-Macroschwill available (draught or bottle) at the resturant (that me and the guys hit after a long day working over at Peterson Air Force Base), so gave it a try. And while Hefewezein is probably a weak match to the BBQ'ed Beef plate that I ordered, I tend to think that this beer would be rather anonymous and flacid with any other food-pairing, to be honest.
Served with a lemon on the rim of the pint glass (that I promptly tossed aside), this didn't have much in the way of a head. Where's the masive billowy head of foam that this style specializes in? Kinda staid and murky looking. But maybe the bar's glassware wasn't as clean as it should be, and it'll taste square-on-the-money...?
...Or maybe not. Not a hint of the classic banana&clove aroma, or subtle bubblegum-ish nots in the flavor profile. Some rudimentary hoppiness to this beer, that really says that this beer has much less in common with Hefe's from Germany, or more along the lines of a much-less-interesting Wheat Ales of the PacNW.
That being said, I'd still take the very basic offerings of other Wheat Ales (i.e. Widmer, Pyramid) over this one. Very empty and unfulfilling.
This did quench a thirst -- and yeah, the bar's two-for-one special was not unwelcome. But really, Breckenridge can do so much better than this sleep-walking-through-the-brewery offering....

I was fine with this beer. Altough out of place in some respects, it was a good middleground between an American Wheat and Hefe. Cleaner and lighter mouthfeel than most hefes with some citrus and some banana and clove. Too much bubblegum, though, IMO.

Light gold color, slightly hazy. Small white foamy head. Aroma is malt, slightly fruity and a touch lemony. Light to medium bodied wheat beer. Malts are mild, slightly lemony, touch of lemon and clove. Not a lot of flavor in this one. Not bad, but kind of bland. Way to lemonish and fizzy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is neutral.

Weird sour note on the taste. Possibly because it was not fresh. Aroma was light with some grass and a touch of lemon. A lame attempt at a wheat. Breckenridge continues to underwhelm me. Let's face it, this sucks.

Appearance is hazy and light golden with a moderate head and little carbonation. Aroma is malty, with a citrusey tang. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth...almost a little flat-feeling, but acceptable for the style. Flavor is grassy and lemony; has a citrusey sourness to it as well. Overall, not my favorite example of the style at all; I think it is a little past it's freshness best by date.
