Hoppy? Brother, 471 redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy.

Wow this is a good one. I like hoppy beers and this one supplies a good bit. Pours an orange color very little head.Kind of sweet and yet malty enough to mellow the hop additions.I would rate this beer right beside Dogfish 90 (even though I still prefer the Dogfish)

Pours a hazy orange-golden with a nice white head that recedes to a slight layer over the surface. Nice lacing. A great sweet, citric aroma of some grapefruit, lemon, and orange on top of a bready underbelly. Flavor matches the aroma quite well. Some definite sweetness to this, some great citric fruitiness, a nice malt underbelly, and then in the end some bitterness shows itself. The alcohol is well hidden. Nice active mouthfeel to this, around medium modied and crisp.

This beer was just an average DIPA. I think the beer was too sticky. I understand it was 9.2%, however, the beer had a body the size of a barleywine. I think the beer was also more malty than hoppy. Reminded me of Great Divide's DIPA - very similar.

Aroma is strong and fairly hoppy with a surprisingly sweet, but far from cloying, fruity undertone that is mainly sour orange plus some apple, pear and grapefruit. It pours a clear coppery amber with a respectable cream-white head that has a copper tint. Flavor is what I expect from a quality IPA: quite hoppy, only a little bitter, fruity and slightly sour undertone, just a hint of honey sweetness. Fruity component is mostly sour orange plus a bit of pear. Texture is smooth and fairly fizzy, and it leaves a nice tingly and hoppy finish. Small batch? Taste the love!

Heavy orange-amber pour with a medium white head and ample lacing. Big hops aroma - grapefruits, pine, citrus, earth - and some sweet caramel malts. Taste is heavy hopped with the citrus and pine hops way upfront with slight sweet malts to cut it somewhat but still very bitter. Resiny mouthfeel that is heavy and slightly oily.

A nice offering from Breck. A nice floral and pine aroma blend with lots of sweet caramel malts. Body is a deep, hazy orange, light tan cap with o.k. lace. Flavor is like the aroma but i had to deduct points for a slight metallic presence, also the alcohol was noticeable in the finish. Overall it was a nice brew that i would drink again.

Pours a nice orange with a white head. Aroma is definitely hoppy--pine and floral notes most evident. Taste is very bitter with some citrus but mostly pine flavors. Definitely not a well balanced beer but, for an IPA lover, that is never a big issue. Overall, a pretty good DIPA, especially for the price, but there are better ones out there.

On draught in logo'd pint glass. Clear, dark golden color, with a firm off-white head. The nose has an unexpected sweetness, with fruity overtones. Mouth feel is consistent with the olefactory impression, nice body. Lacing persistently hung on the glass throughout the imbibing, giving an accurate gulp count! First taste impression is sweetish, but taken over quickly by the hops... and the brewer does throw a bunch of hops into this one! The malts give the brew a nice balance. Make no mistake, though, the hops are definitely out in front. This is certainly a DIPA, in anybody's book! Breckenridge 471 IPA won't make my top 10 list. At the same time, life would be pretty dull if I never ventured outside the comfort of the List. So, try it, you might like it. I did!

What else can I say about this beer, it's on style! Hazey light brown. Smells hop floral, cirtusy fruity grapefruit. Bitter chewing grapefruit rind experience rototilling the tastebuds. Oily mouthcoating soapy flavor. Finish is lingering like an unwanted visitor. Burping green grapefruit rinds after the session. Toomuch for this lager lover, but go for the punishment if you like IPA! S7L3F2T3O4

Ended up with a couple singles from a local stop. I was not too impressed initially, but the beer got better as I settled in. Pleasing aroma of mixed citrus, primarily grapefruit along with plenty of malty sweetness. Glowing amber-copper pour with a smaller off white head and moderate lacing. Plenty of small bubbles from a steady carbonation to keep the eyes entertained. Resinous and smoothly sweet. It's medium bodied and surprisingly drinkable. Caramel, toffee, and sugar flavors are immediately flooded by a puckering grapefruit bitterness. Aftertaste is very bittering. This is the first IPA or DIPA I've had in quite some time, and it satisfied the hop craving. Middle tier in my opinion, but worth the purchase.

this one had a nice beer head, i think it smelled like a variety of hops. It had a nice color to it, and was a clean beer. I would recommend this one atleast once.
