http://www.boulevard.com/the-calling/ We recently shared our 2015 release calendar and we’re very excited to remind you that the next year will see us introduce at least twelve new Boulevard beers. Since the inception of the Smokestack Series in 2007, we’ve stressed the importance of experimentation and play when it comes to our approach to brewing. In this spirit, we’re proud to introduce a new year-round Smokestack Series IPA, The Calling: The Calling, which will be available on draft and in four packs of twelve ounce bottles, is the result of several months of hard (delicious) work by our brewing team who sought to create an IPA with a juicy, tropical fruit aroma that leaps from the glass. A simple malt base composed solely of our two row base malt serves as a platform for giant, punchy hop flavor and aroma provided by a blend of Simcoe, Bravo, Topaz, Cascade, Mosaic, Equinox, Galaxy, and Amarillo hops. Read that sentence again. We are not messing around here, folks. The Calling also receives an addition of lemon peel during the last five minutes of the boil to add an extra citrusy punch. At 8.5 ABV and 75 IBU, The Calling is the IPA we knew we had to brew.

Pours a big foamy white head and has a hazy golden/light amber appearance. Nice dirty lacing. Aromas are citrusy and floral. Very fruity. Flavours are tropical fruit, oranges, mangos. Pine and floral notes as well as hints of grapefruit. Nice smooth and slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. Some nice bitterness in the finish. Goes down quite easy.

Pours a hazy amber/gold colour with a creamy white foam head that retains and laces well. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Taste is quite sweet with pineapple, lemon, orange. It is also piney and earthy with and a tad herbal. Medium/ full body. My first from this brewery. Enjoyable brew.

Part of their Smokestack Series, now called "Calling IPA". Pours an unfiltered golden colour with lots of tiny floaties through it. Great creamy white cap, long lasting with some good thick creamy lacing. Aromas of tropical fruits with citrus zest and herbal notes. The taste is more on the sweeter side with the citrus (grapefruits, oranges), but with some decent mild dryness in the finish to balance things. The alcohol is well-hidden, so easy to drink this Imperial IPA.

Pours hazy honey golden with a thin eggshell head. Strong, hoppy aroma has grapefruit and Mandarin orange notes, plus hints of malt and hay. Bold flavor is quite hoppy and woody but scarcely bitter, with a strong sour citrus tone and a hint of sweet malt. Mouthfeel has firm body and lively, persistent fizz. Answer this calling!

An orange tinted golden colored beer with a big frothy textured off white head rising above. There’s good hang time on the head. A thin ringlet is left. Sweet oranges in the nose. The bittering effect of the rind in the citric centered hoppiness in the tasting. Fresh and crisp.
