In a moment of creative chaos, our brewers at Boulder Beer Company decided to take our hopalicious MoJo India Pale Ale to the next level. The Result - MoJo Risin' Double IPA, a souped-up, extreme version of the one and only MoJo IPA. We added more than half a ton of extra malt and twice the amount of Amarillo hops, so be prepared for a full sensory explosion. The double dry-hop addition elevates the grapefruit-like aroma and flavor to an outrageous intensity, while the added malt raises the alcohol level to 10% by volume. And if you say you never loved it, we'll know you are a liar! This limited edition, single batch brew of MoJo Risin' Double IPA is the 6th Release in our Looking Glass Series of specialty beers. Comes out of the tap a beautiful clear golden amber with a thick, fine-bubbled, pale wheat head that leaves plentiful lacing. Aroma is decidedly hoppy, mainly woody, with malty and subtle fruity notes. Flavor is hoppy and then some, with malty, woody and fruity notes and a hint of caramel. Robust texture has good fizz and leaves a hoppy, woody finish with a caramel underpinning. Let this Mojo rise for you!

Had this one at the Lorelei, as a nitrogen. The head tasted creamy and it finally got flavor about 10 minutes out of the tap. Better than average with a good numbing agent, heck you could drink one of these before going into the dentist, heck two and you could undergo surgery, heck three and you could give yourself a lobotomy.

Nice amber orange pour, tall white head and cap, nice lacing throughout. BIG hops aroma - citrus, light pine, fruits - then malt offset. Taste is big and bitter as expected, earthy citrus and pine, then the malts sweeten the bitter. Nothing outstanding, nothing bad, just average. Love the name of this beer though.

A cloudy orange colored beer with a big off white head rising above. Some hang time a an impressive film on the sides of the glass and a cap/ringlet atop the body. Light grassy, pine hops in a malt nose. A medium bodied, decently carbonated, smooth beer. The tastes are just as laid back. Nothing harsh here. Just simple citric and slight pine hops on the tongue. Sure makes a hot summer day tolerable.

Wow. I could drink this for breakfast... lots of grapefruit flavor - could replace the screwdriver for a wake-up drink. Just had one at lunch. Pours a thick orange-amber color with the aforementioned grapefruit and floral notes in the aroma as well as flavor. A delight.

Pours out in a clear amber colour with a low sticky white foam. Crisp and fresh but still really thick and viscous aroma of flowers, crackers, resin, biscuits and mild fudge. Full-bodied with notes of resin, crackers, flowers, mild grapefruit and dense sweet cookies. A really solid example of the style. Long firm medium-bitter finsih of resin and grapefruit with a firm malt foundation of cookies and fudge. A really nice DIPA with a malt-character to remember.

A solid beer, but lacking hops for a double IPA, or even compared to a lot of regular IPAs. Flavor was a little bit of a let down after smelling a really good aroma. Has a good kick from the ABV%, but besides that wasn't worth the price for me. Still an enjoyable quality beer, but more like a quality pale ale versus a double IPA. I wasn't the biggest fan of their regular mojo IPA, as of this. Gets a good rating because it's a good beer, just didn't stand out that much for me as I was hoping it may, based on the aroma.

Very solid but not spectacular DIPA. Pours a golden orange with a decent sized white head. Aroma is mostly floral hops with a bit of sweetness. Taste is obviously bitter but there is a good amount of malt and sweetness offsetting the hops. My most recent bottle must be a little old because there is a noticeable fading of the hop bitterness.

A big IPA, but not really big enough in any category to be a IIPA. Aroma, mouthfeel, and flavor were all on the thin side for a double. Smooth with a slight bitter finish, some pine hop notes and biscut malts made it taste nice enough. A good beer, that i would try again, but not quite up to the standards of many other IIPA's.

funny..i like their smaller hoppy beers better. this one comes off as too thick and resiny for me, although it's still good. there's a biscuity character as well...good, it just doesn't hold up to the highest standards of the style.
