For the amount of cherries used in this beer, I would expect a far redder colouring. A slightly hazed light cherry red with a pink head. Lots of tart cherry in the aromatic mix with notes of yeast, vinegar, and funk. The flavour is similar, well balanced between the tartness and the sweetness of the cherries.

Darker red color with red foam head. Bubbly, lasting and lacing. Aroma is cherry. Taste is sweet cherries, as alwasys bit too sweet for my taste. Always drink these beers as desert, works well. Longer sweet aftertaste, with some bitter tones, high alcohol for fruit beer. (Vlaardingen 201209)

more tart and sour than sweet from the fruit. there's some cherry in both the aroma and taste, but it's in the background. this is a funky lambic dominated brew. i generally prefer the dark krieks and flemish reds, where the sour vinegar aspects don't dominate the fruit so much. that being said, the lambic quality of this beer is done very very well. it has a nice lasting dry sour finish as well, maybe some oak in there too. just missing a little something extra to be a great beer.

My mouth starting watering the moment I opened the box when I got this from puzzl in a trade. Beautiful black cheery colored pour with a big foamy pink head, even when gently poured. Some chunks of bottom yeast sit on top of the foam. Good attractive sour lambic aroma dotted with cherry fragrance. The palate is tingly and sour. Not very much sweetness, if at all. Normally I like sweetness in a fruit lambic but I’m not missing anything in this one. Each sip is a sour sensation of hair raising proportions. Delightful and refreshing, fun and dee-lish. Some hints of wet woolen horse blanket permeates the taste buds. This beer rocks! Quite invigorating. Has teeny bit of lingering bitterness in the finish but not too noticeable. Andy, I owe you for this one!

Bottle courtesy Beerlando: Poured a deep red color ale with a large foamy head with good retention but minimal lacing. Aroma of funky barnyard taste with some notes of sour cherries. Taste is a mix between some deep sour cherries with some tart notes and some funky barnyard notes as well. Oak was also noticeable but quiet subtle considering the amount of cherries in here. Full body with limited filtration and good carbonation.

Pretty well carbonated as a careful pour yields a two-finger thick, pink tinged, light colored head. The beer is a dark cherry color and shows a lightly hazed, bright red color when held up to the light as well as an aggressive carbonation with lots and lots of CO2 bubbles coming out of solution. The aroma has a nice tartness to it that is mostly lactic in character but seems to have a touch of something like uriatic acid too. Somehow this smells a bit tannic, slightly woody and a bit like cherry skins, though it does not have a pronounced fruitiness to it. As I dig through the aroma the cherry becomes a bit more evident within the sour aromatics; cherry flesh aromatics and tart cherry notes subtly contribute to the aroma. Towards the finish the nose gets a bit funky with barnyard notes, some musty slightly moldy cotton aromas, damp leather. There is even a touch of faint, toasty grain notes that assert themselves after I spend a protracted time deeply inhaling the aroma. While the cherry notes are not pronounced, there are times were I can clearly smell their signature, even if for only a half second or so and then the Lambic notes take over again.Nicely tart up front, but a fleshy, though still quite sour, cherry flavor and texture is quite noticed. The beer has some tannic structure and body to it that provides for a touch of heft. This is very well carbonated and this adds to an effervescent texture that tends to scrub the palate. Cherry skin flavors, a slight woodiness and a touch of Brettanomyces character (musty, slightly earthy, with a bit of barnyard funk) tends to dry out the finish. Though I guess dry out, is the wrong way to say this as this was never sweet to begin with. The sourness in the flavor is a bit more balanced between Lactic and cherry derived tartness than the aroma might have suggested. As the beer warms up a bit, the fleshy, cherry flavors become a bit more noticeable; there is a substantial fruit character to this beer despite it being bone dry.
Another nice beer from Boon, at times I have written this brewery off because of its non-Oude products, but he really can produce tasty, authentic Lambic. I especially like how rich the cherry flavor is here, but without being sweet at all.

Bottle courtesy of aspidites at the Sacramento Beer and Brew Fest. Aroma was lightly acidic, sour cherries, vinegary, light funk with some subtle wood notes floating about. Appearance was reddish/pink in color, bubbly with a thin pink bubbly head. Flavor was fruity, almost candy like. It reminded me of a sour cherry candy I had when I was kid called Cherry Chan's. Almost like a cherry version of a Lemonhead. Anyways, fruity taste, vinegary, and light funk. A good beer.

Ruby red colour, not much head. Cherries and wood in aroma. Dry and sour cherries in the flavour along with a big earthyness and some vinegar also mixed in. Pleasant, but lacks something.

dark reddish colour with a rocky stable beige head; aroma of hay and cheese, crisp cherryish notes are coming through while the beer gets warmer; initially smooth but soon comes a solid acidity; medium-bodied, long acidic, dry and cheese-ish finish - a beautiful kriek and a perfect beer to celebrate the victory of Russia over Canada !

Red with notes of purple. Small creamy white head. Leather, black cherries and wood in aroma. Black cherries in flavour, hints of wood, grape-peels and citrus in flavour. Dry and refreshing finish of cherries and wood.
