Pours clear coppery-amber with a decent buff head. Malty aroma has a hint of caramel. Flavor has a firm malty stroke supported by yeasty and caramel tones. Texture has decent body and fizz. Prost!

I should have known that a Kentucky brewery would call itself 'Bluegrass'. A little bit light for an altbier with less red in it. Aroma is a bit off too with some roast character. Easy drinking but not an alt.

Clear amber color with orange highlights. Very small one finger head even with an aggressive pour. Minimal lacing. Sweet smelling caramel malts with medium floral hops. Slight bit of roasted nuttiness in the smell. Slight nutty flavor with a nice bitter aftertaste. I like it. Thin, smooth mouthfeel that was slightly watery and left a little on the palate. I could drink a few of these. Not bad at all. Not too filling. Probably my favorite of the BBC brews.

This poured a coppery colour, maybe a little heavier and had a very creamy texture to the finish. aroma was somewhat syrupy or oak, something close to that. nice overall.

This altbier pours a medium copper color from a 12 oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel malt, slightly nutty and slightly sweet. A medium to light bodied alt. Malts are caramel, toffee and semi sweet. Hops are herbal and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Malty and semi-sweet. It is a touch thin and watery, but tolerable. Very easy drinker, would make a good session ale. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On draft at the BBC brewpub in Louisville. Poured a nice light copper color with a below average head and lacing for the style (since it is labelled alt, I'm rating it as such, and alts must looked much prettier than this!). The aroma and flavor were nutty, caramel. The flavor had a nice bittering hop finish. Overall, however, I wanted more depth of both hops and malt, despite the nice balance and decent flavors going on with this. Mouthfeel was clean, light, fairly crisp (did they lager this?). A nice "light" stateside altbier in my book, far better than the average amber ale out there.

Pours a medium copper brown with a moderate head. It's got a surprisingly malty flavor and aroma. Too rich for style. Low bitterness. Really just another amber ale.

A nice Altbier, bottled even, better than most imported. Not as bitter as most homebrewed one's I've had. This did have a hint of burnt malt character that I would think to be out of style, but I guess is rather common. Nice munich esque malt character and dry finish.

Solid amber ale brewed in the old style. Pours a good looking light amber with ample head. Decent aroma of sweet malts countered by a bit or rye. Smooth and easy, very drinkable. Good flavor, a nice ale that could get you through the night.
