http://www.bluemoonbrewingcompany.com/OurBeers/Product/white-ipa For our white IPA our brew masters wanted to combine the citrus flavors of an IPA with the smooth, balanced malts of a Belgian white Belgian-Style Wheat Ale. They began by experimenting with hop after hop until they found the perfect combination of four hops, including a rare German hop called Huell Melon. The result is a pronounced citrus and fruity hop taste, perfectly balanced by wheat, coriander, and orange peel. Hoppy. Unfiltered. Balanced. We bring the best of two styles together to craft an IPA with a unique twist.

pours a cloudy orange/light golden with a white foam cap. Aroma is grassy, grapefruit, and melon. Taste is a light grainy malt and orange peel, with a sharp bitterness and hop flavors of grapefruit and melon. Mouthfeel is medium with a nice creaminess from the wheat, with moderate to high carbonation.

Pours hazy golden with a thin and not persistent white head. Aroma is more citrus than hoppy, but still inviting. Flavor has firm notes of grapefruit and hops. Texture is fairly smooth, fairly firm, fairly fizzy. Overall, a good party beer.

Part of their Brewmaster's Sampler packs for this winter, bought in Vegas. Pours a hazy light-golden colour with a warm cap that stays a decent time and creates foam lacing. Fresh grassy hop aromas with citrus (oranges after breathing) that reminds me of a Saison. The taste is citrusy with some mild hoppy notes that really reminds me of a Saison, so good for that style.

For a Blue Moon....not that bad. For the style, not that good. Has a hazy light orange appearance. Light citrusy aroma, with some sweetness in the background which is almost like coconut. Also getting that in the flavor as well...similar to what I find in some of Kona's brews. There's a little malt here, but the flavor is quite bitter..not in the best way though. I guess this resembles more of a Belgian IPA. Just don't expect the typical clean hoppy white IPA...this is too macro.

Opaque yellow, small white foam head. Looks and aroma are kind of a mix between a Weizen and light IPA, strange. OK taste. Again a Blue Moon beer that is not outstanding, think I don't fancy this brwery. (New Orleans 201505)

Had this one on 4/3/15 A dull yellow colored beer with a big sudsy textured white head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. A thick ringlet is left. Bananas and wheat are in the nose. That earthy wheat dominates but the banana, grassy hops and citric round out the profile. Crisp and effervescent.
