2018 Description Oaktoberfest is the first traditional Marzen Lager ever micro-brewed in Ontario and the only lager we regularly produce. This flavourful seasonal brew is carefully crafted to emulate a style most known for celebrating the Bavarian festival of Oktoberfest in early autumn. Pouring a crisp copper colour and rich in spiced hoppy aromas with a creamy malty taste, this lager is a mouth-watering favourite. 2014 Description Inspired by the Märzenbier style, the Oaktoberfest Lager has a bready aroma off the nose and golden toffee flavors within. This beer has sizable body, but with a crisp clean finish and extra carbonation. We used 100% German Munich malt, Pilsner malt, Caramunich malt and Tettanger hops to create this seasonal beer, available only for a limited time at the brewery retail store.

Single bomber at the LCBO. Pours a clean amber colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and thick lacing. Rusty hop aromas with some butterscotch notes. Medium-light bodied. Caramel malt taste with some decent mild hop adding a little bitterness and dryness to the finish. Hints of butter and bread. Good, but nothing to exceptional.

The newest addition to the Black Oak lineup. According to Black Oak's representative on bartowel.com, they drank too much of it before kegging so there isn't a lot out there (20 kegs is what I heard). A clear amber coloured beer with a thin lasting head. The aroma was grainy malt as was the flavour. An easy drinking beer that I would certainly try again next year.

The beer poured a translucent red with a tan foamy head. The aroma was sweet malt, some fruit tones, and grain. The mouthfeel was creamy, medium-bodied with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was slightly sweet, and definitely malty. A very enjoyable Oktoberfest and another fine product from the Black Oak Brewery.
