Porter is a dark-coloured beer developed in the 1750s. Porter has a heavier flavour and aroma and a slightly sweet taste. Its name probably originates in the belief that this strong, nourishing drink was ideal for hard-working porters and labourers. Black Creek Porter is wonderful on its own, or with salty snacks.

Bottle: Pours a clear brown ale with ruby highlights in the glass. Small off-white cap does not last or lace well. Very demure aroma but pleasant...roasty...coffee-cocao, some sweetness. leafy hops...very mild. Has a mild character with a thin mouth feel. Front side is tasty with roasty burnt treacle malts...some late hopping...lightly vinous, some musty grape skin notes under the coffee. Clean roasty finish. A decent session Porter in the colonial style.
