12 oz bottle from International Advent Calendar, and a claimed ABV of 10.1% ("Holiday Extra Strong Ale"!) Clear chestnut pour with a slight ivory head. Boozy aroma, with caramel notes. Boozy caramel flavour, along with dark fruits. Not overly sweet, thankfully. Mouthfeel was lighter than expected.

Sampled on 4/2/2010. Bottle # 939 of 1800. This Belgian Strong/Quad pours a medium reddish brown color from a 750ml bottle. Large sized beige foamy head with nice lacing. The aroma is brown sugar, molasses and caramel. A medium to full bodied Belgian Strong/Quad. The malts are fruity and sweet, brown sugar and molasses. Yeasty and estery. The hops are earthy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice sipping beer. None of the typical Christmas Beer spicing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Pours with a deep red brown body topped by a thin to medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a note of dark fruit, some vanilla/barrel notes and alcohol esters. Full bodied and warming.

Good brew from Big Sky. Poured was a nice brown color with good size head. Aroma was oaky dark fruits and something else. Flavor was much the same, vanilla oak was strong and lots of fruits. Good beer.

Bottle from Topps in Tempe. The pour was beautiful garnet-brown, very generous tannish to light brown colored head (foaming out of the bottle after the first pour and loud pop upon opening), good but somewhat spotty paterned lacing. The aroma was oak, vanilla, dark fruits. The flavor was bourbon (although the bottle doesn't mention bourbon barrels), vanilla, oak (all of those a little too strong, but not typically overdone), plums, raisins, insignificant spicing. Finishes with a full body, slight yeast dryness also. Very nice brew.
