The beer pours a coca-cola black colour with a creamy light brown cap on top. The cap thins out over time, but leaves a little lacing. The aroma is pumpkin and spice forward with a hint of roasted malt, coffee, and earthy hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is a competition between the spices and the coffee for dominance, although I feel the coffee wins out in this one. The pumpkin flavour is present but not overpowering. The finish is both bitter and tangy. A good pumpkin beer. -

A nice surprise from Lilihel, growler from the brewpub. Pours a clean copper colour with a biege head, average retention, kind of creamy with some decent lacing. Aromas of caramel and bananas with some yeast and the pumpkin and spice in the background. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Not as spicy, but the pumpkin comes out in the taste. A good real pumpkin ale, but a little too rich overall.

Update Nov.2016: Just re-released as Tales From The Patch. Tried this past fall, part of 6oz tasters, finally rating :p Doesn't have very much head, just a bit of a ring around the inside. Has a dark brown appearance with reddish hues. Aromas of pumpkin spices and roasted malts. Flavours are mostly malty with spices, a bit of yeast and barley as well. the pumkin taste is pretty mild actually. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, some bitterness on the palate. It's ok, but preferred the Clocktower version much more.
