Pours an extremely dark brown with a decent head. The aroma is rich caramel and toffee malts with prune and date fruitiness. The flavor is sweet and rich and tastes more alcoholic than it lists.

    Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5

Bottle: Poured a dirty yellow color ale with a huge bubbly white head with less then average retention. Aroma is totally dominated by the Belgian yeast. Taste is a mix between good malt backbones, the Belgian yeast and some spices that bring a strange sparkling sensation, which I didn’t, particularly enjoyed. Body is a bit light and carbonation is low. Good effort but not close to the best of the style.
