Bottle: Poured a ditry hazy dark beige color ale with a huge foamy head with perfect retention and good lacing. Aroma of Belgian malt with some wheat and some sweetness also coming through. Taste is a mix between some candi sugar, some wheat malt and some bready yeast. Great carbonation with a full body and no apparent alcohol.

Pours out in a clear dark golden colour with a rich, creamy white foam. Vinous aroma of mint, flowers, oranges, wormwood and yellow berries. Soft full flavour of burnt sugar, mint, grass, flowers, menthol, and white bread. Soft medium to full body. Spicy and refreshing finish of grass, mint, yeast and raspberries. A complex and entertaing brew.

Hazy amber in colour, minor head. Aroma is honey, malts and yeast. Flavour is honey, malts, yeast caramel and alcohol. Quite pleasantly mixed and full. Some spicyness in flavour also, as the beer gets warmer.

Bottle. Dark orange colour with a large white head. Aroma has fruit, candy and malts. Taste is spicey, fruity and bitter. Bitter then fruity sweet finish. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated. Good, but not particularly easy to drink.

Medium golden brown color, very cloudy. Smallish head, Aroma is applish, cookie and citrus. A medium bodied amber, spiced with a multitude of spices: ginger, allspice, coriander and ???. Tart and sweet throughout, flavor of apples predominates. Interesting beer, great for sipping. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. High alcohol is not noticeable.

33cL brown bottle, with a ugly red-haired witch working over a caldron, while her cats drunkenly walk around. Deja vu.... ;)
This is definately a different "Artisanal Belgium Amber Ale", that's for sure. If I may quote from Christian Deglas' classic book "The Clasic Beers of Belgium" (© 1997)..., "Part of the same family of beers that is named after the woods in the middle of the country side, which witnessed several fierce battles during World War I". It goes on to talk about this representing a typical Flanders bier, with the soft and rounded body and mild fruitiness, and minimal bitterness.
While I'm not sure about this falling into being a typical Flanders beer or not, I do have to say that enjoyed this, after it grew on me, that is. Distinct apple-esqe vibe to the flavor profile, IMO, with additional notes of All Spice. Hard to think of this being an "Amber" ale of any sort, and yet it's too soft to be a true Pale Ale. Call it a "Belgian Beer" and be done with it...!
Mouthfeel is a little quirky, with alcohol making itself known without out much ceremony. Dry, somewhat crisp finish, that pays full homage to the fruit-ish notes present throughout this beer's presentation.
The place I got this from had this beer on the "Bargain Shelf", only because the owner didn't care much for something this busy and complex. While I admit that this could some tweaking, to emphasize one aspect or another, it's still interesting enough to investigate as-is, IMO.
