Our interpretation of this Belgian-style sour ale was fermented with both wild yeast and bacteria. It was made with 100% real peaches so that our Pêche has a fruity palate. Aged in French Oak barrels, that previously held red wine, were shipped to us from the Napa Valley which lends greatly to the dry, wine-like finish.

10.09.05 From growler at HW open house. Cloudy orange pour with lasting but small white head. Sweet tart up front, promising, but then a mess of sweetness. Way too fruity for me, although it’s apparently fresh, not artificial. Tastes jammy. Some farmhouse qualities in the background aren’t given a chance to shine and that’s too bad. Some buttered toast stuff, too.

Wow, looks like I copied E's scores. In any event, I was impressed with this one from the pour on. Nice thin head on top of the cloudy yellow appearance. Lacing was excellent. The aroma was hard to pick up beyond barny-like and sweet. Flavor wasn't too complex (which was the only knock on it), although for a fruity lambic, it had more going on in it than fruit (the peach may not have been detected if I didn't know it was in there). Tartness of a good flemish sour with somewhat of a lightly sweet balance in there. Oak and tarty fruits (apples, some cherries) in the flavor. A nice showing.

Poured a hazy orange color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of brett, horseblanket, funky barnyard, and sweet peaches. Much of the same in the taste, lots of brett, cherry skins, and a tart and sour finish.
