Berghoff Solstice Wit, named for the golden light of the longest day of the year, is a refined, Bavarian-style thirst-quencher. Made with the finest red wheat, 2-row malted barley, and the most sought-after American hops, this is a light, refreshing brew with subtle hints of Curacao orange and coriander. This was the first beer to feature the new Berghoff label design.

Thanks to BeerHunter for this one. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Smells sweet with a bit of a citrus aroma. Taste is citrus with a bit of yeast. Not bad for the style.

Decent beer all around, pours a cloudy, hazey sort of orangeish colour with a nice white top. Aroma is sweet and enticing, mouthfeel is initially very wheaty, and fruitforward- orange peel, finishes a little tart, which i expected. nice beer.

Very pale gold, maybe even a slightly burnt look to the beer to, there is a mild haze in the beer not the cloudiness I was expecting, a small white head caps off the beer and it disappeared in a manner of seconds, very poor looking brew indeed. The aroma is wheat, slight sourness very mild smelling beer, there seems to be some detectable banana but nothing special. Taste is smooth and wheaty, lots of yeast and a fresh squeezed orange juice flavor is noticeable . A very strange marshmallow after taste is left in my mouth after every sip and I like it, the mouth feel is full but overly carbonated in my opinion, it leaves a burning sensation in the throat when swallowed. Not bad but slightly disappointing for a witbier, I might have let this sit in my fridge to long before drinking, I’m surprised this scored so low.

Poured hazy orange/gold...maybe someone dropped a bit of Metamucil into the mash....small dull white creamy cap which leaves long lasting sticky ropy lacing. Decent bubbs. Aroma is persistant. Warm and yeasty with tasty bananas and smells fresh and dry. Taste comes second to the aroma, no question there. Good blend of flavours though: solid dry and abundant wheat and yeast, some fruitiness with lemon being the biggest contributor. Light flavourful hop spice and some sweet candy near the end. Mellows out the emptier my glass gets. Finishes with a notable wateriness which a bit of a let down. Mouthfeel is mild, fairly smooth, light to medium bodied. A touch flat. Needs more carbonation. Finishes with a sourness that drops off to a soft dryness. Best Berghoff brew I've had period.

This wit pours a light orange gold color from a 120z bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is lightly malty, citrusy (orange and lemons) and a touch grassy. A light to medium bodied wit. Malts are grassy and citrusy. Hops are slightly spicy. Spices are mild; coriander and orange peel predominating. Light and refreshing. Crisp and clean but a little watery. Nice lawnmower beer. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly citrusy.

This beer pours an orangish-yellow applesauce color. It is a bit hazy and has a bubbly head of white foam. The smell is lemon citrus, but can't rally make out any wheat aromas. Although this one is 'Hoegaarden-like', it is more citusy and also more carbonated and fizzy. It has a smooth wit beer flavor, fruity and sweet, with just a touch of bitterness at the end. Light mouthfeel with lots of bubbly, tingling carbonation. An average attempt at the style, worth a try, but that's it.

It smelled wonderful, filling the room with yeastiness and banana like esters. Sadly, it was all downhill from there. Thin and watery, even for a wit. It has more of a hefe flavor profile, but off. Not bad, but just not that good, I expect more crispness and a hint of citrus, but its not there.

Great cloudy orange colour. Appearance that is a lot like Blue Moon (Coors Brewing). You can definately taste the orange and coriander in this one. Excellent beer cold. If you like Blue Moon you'll like this. Possibly the best Berghoff. I love this beer on draught. Great summer beer for hot days. I found on tap at Hamilton Lake in northern Indiana at a nice bar called Pier 32. Over 100 beers, can't beat that on a hot summer day at the lake. This beer is well worth your time.
