kind of a boring style, and this beer, while ok, does nothing to dispell that notion. light on the nose and palate...not enough there to be the slightest bit interesting.

My first exposure to this brewery's offerings, courtesy of Trader Joe's. And while this isn't bad, it just didn't do much for me, pro or con....
Looks okay enough, I suppose. I mean, this has enough carbonation and foam to fit the style, which is all one can ask for from this style of beer, when you think about it.
Wish the same were true when it comes to the aroma of this one. In other words, I'm not quite so forgiving with the non-commital nose of this beer, to be honest.
Ditto for the flavor profile. Enough character to not be confused for something truly thin and lifeless and tasteless, but nothing here to sing praises to the beer gods about, either.
Meant to be a German-style Helles bier, but that's surely no excuse for this beer's lack of personality and gumption.
Per the website, "...a clean tasting lager that will satisfy all types of beer drinkers, even those used to drinking the big brands." Well, call me King Contrary Man, but I find this not at all satisfying. Thirstier afterwards, to be honest.
Didn't cost me much (we are talking about a Trader Joe's single, after all), and I'm glad that I gave this a honest try. I'm also glad that I'm not stuck with 5/6'ths of a six pack in my `fridge.... ;^)

This beer pours a mild golden yellow color with fairly active carbonation, a thin white head, and mild to little lacing. The aroma is citrusy and hoppy with little malt and sweet presence. Some bread and grassy effect in there as well. The flavor is medium bodied and finishes fairly dry. Amazing how much flavor there was here given the lightness of the beer! Bread and grassyness are apparent, but so is the yeasty fruityness. Light "hayfield" flavor, very mellow and light on the carbonation surprisingly. Sweet fruity flavors came out of nowhere as it warmed. Ever-so-slightly sticky finish, perhaps a ginger hint as well. Good mouthfeel, an interesting summerish staple beer and the first true Helles that has my attention.

Medium gold color. Medium head. Aroma is lightly malty and slightly hoppy. A medium bodied, very mellow lager. It fairly malty and hoppy for a lager, and there is some fruitiness as well. It most definitely a lager, but it has none of the bad qualities of a lager. Very smooth taste. Light and refreshing. Would be an excellent hot summer day beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter
