33cl brown bottle pours brownish copper with full tan head and spotty lacing. I’m clueless on how this could be a Vienna style beer. Ratebeer confounds at times. The aroma is a little dusty and then offers up modest earthy notes, spicy hop notes, a touch of roasted malts, nuttiness and gravel road. The taste has sweet malt infused nuttiness rolling slowly into a bit of roasted malts, spicy hops and earthiness. Pretty nice stuff.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. ABV is 6.5%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Unusual aroma, marzipan / artificial almond flavouring, some caramel and rice. The flavour has some caramel malts, but is not very sweet. Hints of almond essence again. Esoteric, but not a great beer.

Above average for beer from Asia. For the style though, perhaps just below average. There is some caramel malt and bready flavor in there, but the balance could be better.....with some mild sour in there. I would have had this out in Indonesia given the limited choices there....but not something I would really look to here. Decent strength though and worth the try.

Thanks Dean for bringing this home. Clear dark amber, small lacing foam head. Caramel taste, not too sweet. Wished I could drink this in country. (Velp 201503)

Pours a deep golden brown with a thick head. The aroma is of light malt and nothing else. The mouthfeel solid with a bubble effect. The taste is okay not in the least bold or complex.

pours a medium brown hue, the body is clear and the head is a thick small frothy light tan foam with a good lace. The aroma is sweet, caramelly malt aroma without much in the way of hops. The taste is much like the aroma, it's a sweet, caramel malt-heavy beer. For that, the flavor seems more balanced than the aroma with a light but present bitterness toward the end. There also seems to be a very light but noticeable smokiness in the flavor which is appealing; perhaps they still kiln malt over wood fires in Laos. The mouthfeel is quite good, it's medium light body with a massive carbonation which yields alot of creaminess.

A mahogany colored beer with a medium foamy textured, white head rising above. There's some hang time. Settles into a thick ringlet and some thick film trying to climb up the sides of the glass. Let this one warm. It's full character comes through at room temperature. A light, bready nose. Caramel and grainy sweetness dominate the tasting. Light medium body with some creaminess.

Aroma is fruity and a bit fruit-sweet with a malty undertone. Pours a slightly hazy cinnamon- brown with a decent cream-colored head. Flavor is crisp, malty, slightly yeasty and just a little fruity with just a tiny bit of sweetness. Texture is rather smooth and fizzy, rather typical. Worth a try.

Bottle from SL I think. No idea why this is categorized as a schwarzbier, a swill variant of a dunkel at best. Pour was clear brown with a thin but well sustaining head that was only slightly off-white. The aroma was corn with toasty notes some chocolate. The flavor followed, dry caramel, chocolate, nuts, toasted off corn, fruity type notes. The last two just ruined anything dunkel under this whole thing. Mouthfeel was light. This was Laosian dark Budweiser. Oh well, another country to tick.
