A very rare style that was originally created as a competitor to the popular London porter. So, what makes it a German porter? Why it's been brewed with lager yeast of course! The roasted barley provides chocolate flavours and the malt sweetness is complimented by a finely balanced bitterness. Two Weeks Notice was designed by brewer Brad Wright exclusively for our annual Oktoberfest in Vankleek Hill.

Pours a thick frothy brownish head and has a dark brown appearance. Mild roasted malts, breads and toffee with some hints of nuts and mocha. Some roasted malt flavours. Has somewhat of a smokey taste in the finish as well as coffee. Some mild sweetness and not really bitter. Some hints of mocha and chocolate. Very well balanced. Says it was brewed with lager yeast, I couldn't tell the difference. Slick and light creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Average carbonation. Very good german style porter. Tried cask at Ottawa Beerfest 2013.

Bottle from the Oktoberfest gift pack - pours a clouded deep brown blak with a decent 2 finger tan cap that lasys and laces. Aroma is somewhat demure for this style (Baltic porter?)some roast malt, no hops no sweetness more like a schwartzbier or light dunkel more than a Baltic porter. The character and flavor seem more like a dry dunkel - light roastiness, some nuttiness, no fruit, balanced noble hopping - finish is clean rasty and lightly bitter - not a bad dark lager but over priced for what you get.

The beer pours a coca-cola brown colour with a dark brown bubbly head. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and hints of vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium-full with medium carbonation. The flavour is coffee, molasses, dark fruit, and chocolate. -

Enjoyed at the National Capital Craft Beer Week with PaleAleRider. Pours a dark brown colour (seems hazy) with a beige bubbly head and small dirty lace. Fresh roasted malts, like burnt toast, and hints of licorice and dark fruits scents. Nice bitterness giving a dry mouthfeel. The taste is much milder, but still tasty with butterscotch and dark fruits. A much bitter porter that is quite different and nice. Pretty awesome that they brought back No. 12 from the Wild Oats series, and this German take on the porter style.
