Beau’s All Natural Brewing will be collaborating with Canadian actor and comedian Tom Green this spring to create The Tom Green Beer. The official launch of the Tom Green Beer in the nation’s capital will include five stand-up comedy shows featuring Tom Green, to be held at Yuk Yuk’s on Elgin St. in Ottawa June 13-15. Milk stout is the chosen beer style for the collaboration, a tip of the hat to one of Tom Green’s comic antics of the past. A balanced black ale, The Tom Green Beer will display flavours of chocolate and coffee, while delivering a creamy, velvety texture and finishing with a mild sweetness. Tom Green initially approached Beau’s All Natural with the idea of making a beer together last summer. When Toronto’s Session Craft Beer Festival proposed the idea of “Collaboration Nation” (having Ontario craft breweries pair themselves with an artist and develop a beer together), the plan became a reality. “Growing up in the Ottawa area, I’ve been a huge Tom Green fan. Having the opportunity to brew a unique and tasty beer with one of my heros is quite amazing — really amazing,” shared Steve Beauchesne, co-founder of Beau’s. “We’re having so much fun with this project, we may decide to make it available as more than just a one-off release… assuming we like the finished beer as much as we think we will,” he added.

I am not a fan of Tom Green. That will add to my 150 characters. This is an easy drinking (average) milk stout. Average beers like this one should be in smaller bottles. Could be better with bacon.

Pours a huge foamy bubbly beige head, looks like foam from chocolate milk pour. Has a dark brown appearance with light reddish hues. Somewhat weak lacing. Aromas of cocoa, roasted and bread malts, and faint floral hops. Flavours of roasted malts, barley, yeast, milk chocolate, light hints of toffee and cocoa. Has some notes of coffee and bready malts in the finish. Smooth and slick sensation on the palate with a somewhat silky and oily mouthfeel. Goes down real easy, a smooth milky stout that can easily be a session. Good stuff!

Bottle: Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights 1 finger tan cap with fair retention. Aroma is roasty, slightly sweet with some cocoa. Flavor is mainline milk stout – lightly sweet with lactose roasty cocoa malting and hops in the background….finishes clean and chocolaty with some hop bittering at the end. A decent enough milk stout but a tad thin for the style

The beer pours a solid black colour with a generous brown bubbly head which recedes to a thin layer. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, and molasses, with some vanilla hints. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is chocolate, coffee, and hints of hops. Not bad. -

Single at the LCBO... and lots of them, awesome !! When he started in Ottawa, I was his biggest fan. Seriously. He wanted me on his show as his biggest fan. I was there live, every week. For the beer, pours a dark brown with a creamy mocha head, goes down quickly thought but some creamy lace is left, here and there. Roasted malts nose with coffee and hints of molasses. Wet mouthfeel with just a little stickiness. Chocolate malt taste with notes of coffee and some dark fruits. Overall, pretty mild for a dark milk stout and goes down very easily as really not thick and heavy. Could drink lots of these. Cheers Tom !!
