Burnt Rock is a classic British-style porter brewed with additions of organic vanilla beans and extract. Despite what the weighty aroma suggests, Burnt Rock has a good, clean finish, and sessionable drinkability. History & Style Beau’s Pro-Am Series is a salute to homebrewers, true innovators of our craft. Beers designed by amateur brewers, brewed at Beau’s. Cheers to Members of Barleyment’s Patrick Boisvenue for brewing this wonderful winter warmer with us! Tasting Notes With rich, luxuriant vanilla aromas reminiscent of fine tobacco, selected dark malts offer up balancing chocolate and coffee nuances for this medium-bodied beer. Hops add a pleasantly dry finish. Pours a massive amount of foamy, bubbly brownish head. Has a dark brown appearance. Some patchy lacing. Aromas of light malts, vanilla, with notes of nuts, mild caramel and spices. The vanilla flavour is quite noticeable and is backed with some nice sweet malts and spiced hops in the mix. Has a nice light mouthfeel, very smooth. Lively carbonation. Overall good balance of sweetness and bitterness. Pretty good coming from amateur brewers, for their Pro-Am series.

Part of "The Best of Beau’s 2013" 4-pack at the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with a creamy beige head, good retention and some decent lacing. Soft vanilla notes over the chocolate and roasted malts. The same for the taste, watered-down hints of coffee. Cocoa flavours with the vanilla smoothing down things. An alright Pro-Am brew, but like others, pretty mild overall.

sampled at Mondial - Deep dark brown-black , 2 finger tight mocha colored cap - pleasing cocoa-vanilla tones in the aroma, with light treacle and walnut undertones - Flavour is deeply roasty - coffee-cocoa with light sweetness and some amalgam with the vanilla, hops show up stronger in the finish which gets mildly bitter. A really well made flavoured porter that could be served alone if you have a urge for an vanilla drink but it is best served with desserts where the flavours really compliment cheese cake.
