22oz bomber. As soon as the top was cracked I could smell yummy hops. It pours nice and dark with a full dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up pine hops and some citrus hops as well as lighter notes of dark roasted malts and dark chocolate. The taste is right there! Yum. I get a pleasing fairly rich grapefruit like citrus hop flavor and bitterness that rolls into a mix of chocolate malts, dark roasted malts and then just the right amount of burnt malts. It only grows in citrus hop bitterness to midway as resiny pine hops join in and then into the finish the hops sweeten up just a tad to add little bit fuller mouth feel. Darn tasty stuff from one of my favorite breweries.

Taste: Toasted malts, grapefruit and pine
Nice. Lots of roast in the aroma, more of a IPA in the taste.

Very nice. Roasted malts and hops blended well. Chocolate, cocoa some coffee, floral and pine. Smooth. Love the aftertaste. If you like the style it's good to try but I don't think it's a standout.

Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, burnt cocoa, and subdued hop aromas. Taste is much the same with char and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown black with a big creamy tan head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is roasted chocolate malts with some rye notes.

The flavor is some sweet chocolate malts with a lot of acidic roast bitterness with some pine. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

    Overall, a decent black IPA.

Pretty much exactly what I expected/hoped for from this brew. Like all the other "Racer" IPAs. pungent hops, both pine and citrus, ample bitterness...and a light but distinct roasted malt, coffee abd coca character. At no point do you realize you are drinking an imperial strength brew. I don't think this will have a long shelf life, but very good fresh. Finishes bitter and dry.
