LA-31 Boucanèe is our acknowledgment of the importance of the wild cherry tree to south Louisiana. Using cherry-wood smoked wheat we craft a surprisingly delicious and unique ale. A cold glass of Boucanèe enhances the taste of many local dishes, whether smoked or not. At our brewery, we enjoy pairing it with chicken and sausage gumbo, barbeque, sausage po-boys, and grilled hamburgers. We can no longer even look at a link of boudin without instinctively opening a cold bottle.

Grenade from Sam. Light brown pour with ample head and some lacing. Nice sweet smoke presence right away, not overpowering, with plenty of malts and light earthy hops. Lingering light sweet smoke throughout. Oh yes, I love me some smoke. Thanks Sam.

Comes out of the growler a dark honey-golden, almost mahogany, a little hazy, with a fairly thick light tan head. Malty aroma has an overtone of smoky barbecue and a hint of honey. Flavor has firm smoky and malty tones with a honey hint. Firm, smooth texture has a good tingle to it and leaves a smoky barbecue-ish finish. Enjoy, but don’t get too "smoked"!

So far this brewer is batting a thousand with me -- all are about equally crappy. Smoked aroma is pleasant enough. Color is brown and non-coital in any other respect. Thin to the palette and remarkably hideous astringent flavor.

Bought at Steins in Nawlins .. . Pours a tan-gold .. low to medium foam .. . mostly smoke and a touch of wheat .. . super refreshing and awesome smoke, i can't believe this beer- super smokey yet amazingly light- but still smokey and sweet .. . one of the nicer American smoked beers i have had!! .. . . . . .

Just bring us what we ordered unless you want me to stick this breadstick up your ass ... .

i'm sure it would taste better if you didn't...and you might want to butter it first...
