They are calling this West Coast style in the Ratebeer description, but seems a little closer to an English style IPA. Lighter orange semi-cloudy appearance. Malt to hop balance leaning more towards the malts on this one. Some bitter citrus in the aroma and finish. I've tried four of Baxter's brews now in their 12-pack vareity, and I usually judge a new brewery that I try on their IPA. I'd say that these guys are good and above average, but not great.

Found this beautiful can in a 6-pack on my trip to Maine. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a head that has good retention and dirty lacing. Aromas of fruity malts with grassy hops. Same for the taste with a bitter finish, creating a dry mouthfeel. The skull got my eye at the store and this is a very nice brew that holds up to its image.

Wow... really nice IPA - grapefruit abounds in the aroma and a bit more subtle in the flavor, yet the flavor is still pleasantly robust with a nice malt back. Hazy orange with a moderate fulffy white head and awesome lacing. Had no idea about ABV until I had a couple... and then saw it listed here - well masked.

Wow, there whole thing is everything in a can, and its not bad, no not bad at all. Aroma of Lemmon, a hint of Banana and a hint of tobacco. Medium copper body with a very nice full head that lasts and produces great lace. Good mouth, medium to slightly light, slippery and nice carbonation level. Flavor... a winner hops more present as bittering than as flavoring. Tastes really fresh, tastes the most like a home brewed beer of any commercial beer I have had. A lot of fresh green in the flavor ; must come from the double dry-hopping. This one tastes more bitter than the 69 IBU would lead you to suspect. Some grapefruit in the aftertaste, really solid malt backbone on this, almost too much for the style. Perhaps a hint of buttery like a good English Pale. I really really like this one! The 6.9% ABV is wickedly well masked.
