Aug. 2013: 500 ml bottle, shared by a neighbour. ABV is 6.0%. Copper colour, moderate white head. Pleasant malty aroma and flavour with fruitcake, stewed fruits and some caramel. The hops are moderate, but nicely balanced. A typical English ESB / strong pale ale, much to my liking.

Bottled@Monks Cafe, Stockholm. A beer quite similar to XXXB, but more dry and more wooden notes. Also has some mild roasted notes lurking. Aftertaste is quite dry wood, but at same same time quite sweet.

Gone are the old 20 ounce pints, hallo 500 milliliters. Very nice color, (darker the pale) normal aroma, 6% strong ale. Has a very nice body, no wet paper bag or gag yeast after taste like in the states. No problems the next morning. Decent ale,not a stand up and shout but surely worth drinking when I could find it.

Straight ff the top - the glorious smell of caramel and fruit. Then the magic that is eorge Bateman's yeast strain pipes in. Unfashionable colour for beer in uk nither light nor dark. Pale ale as it used to be - my bottle came in at 6%.

Cask at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Very sweet, cloying, boiled fruit sort of taste; distracted largely from any other merits the beer might have had. Full bodied. Disappointing.
