Compared to Guinness, no way! It may be one of the worst stouts I have ever had. Do not waste any money on this one. Head lasted a couple minutes only, and it even had carbonation that turned me off. KMB

Agree with slowrunners first impression "that explains it, a stout from budweiser" Yeah its a Guinness knock off from inBev, a watery stout, not much flavor or character.

THAT explains it! a stout made by our good friends at Bud. I was excited to see a new stout, complete with a 3d boxer taphandle, while on vacation. more excited as it came out, cascading on nitro. the flavor, however, was entirely underwhelming. if you're a Guiness fan it's almost comprable, but i'm a fan of bigger stouts than this.

A stout from AB. Never thought this would happen...ever. The flavor is what killed it, and killed it really bad. Very grainy. This doesn't even look like a stout, with its almost red color. I thought all stouts were black, I guess not.

I am normally partial to stouts and porters, but this is an exception. It looks nice coming out of the keg (had this at the Mensa AG in Denver), dark sable-brown with a decent head. Aroma, however, is rather weak, albeit typical of a stout. Flavor is rather insipid - it tastes like watered-down coffee with just a little bit of an alcohol zing. Texture is smooth but lifeless. Forget this one.

I sampled this beer on an Anheuser-Busch tour about 2 1/2 years ago, when I believe it was just coming out. So that's my disclaimer; it was a while ago, right at the plant, early in it's existance and I was on a beer tour (and thus in a good mood). I recall it being very much like Guinness but a touch thinner on the mouthfeel. Everything was just a little bit watered down when comparing to Guinness but it wasn't bad at all. I actually enjoyed it. Decent coffee presence, some malts and a hint of dark chocolate. Wasn't as dark as Guinness, more of like a dark brown but they did have some similarities. Also mine had a pretty decent sized creamy head but that could be because it was forced draught at Anheuser-Busch.

It was not as dark as most stouts and not as creamy. Maybe it would bennifit from a nitro pour or something. Flavors was ok. A bit bitter on the back end and not very smooth.

I really did not like this much. Guinness is ten times better. It poured a dark tan. The head was minimal. I was told that it was a new keg, but it was off. It had flatness to it. It was pretty rough going down unlike a creamy Guinness.

On tap at Dominica’s, a fine place. Didn’t even know this existed till I saw the cool tap. Pours like a guinness or any other dry stout of quality. However, did not have the big rolling head that is so common with the nitrous dry stouts. $4 per big glass. Not much aroma but what I did smell was certainly stoutlike, hints of roastiness. Except for the head, this rates just like any other dry stout. Barely any carbonation. Slight roasty watery feel, not thick. Not any worse than guinness. I don’t care for some beers in this style, for example, this is just like Guinness Draught, Murphys Irish Stout and Mendocino Black Hawk Stout. However, it lacks the enjoyability of Tröegs Oatmeal Stout or Carlow OHaras Celtic Stout. Overall, AB has done an excellent job of duplicating the attributes of the famous dry stouts. If you like Guinness, better try this one.

I picked up a four pack of this after walking into a hole in the wall package store, and then feeling too bad to walk out empty handed. Shoulda picked up some wine. Pours a very dark brown with a oddly thin off white nitro head. Aroma is very weak, and a little, I dunno... gassy I guess, with occasional whiffs of roasted barley. Mouthfeel seems very much flat, and lacks the creaminess I was expecting from a nitro can. Flavor was surprisingly wasn't too bad, it carried a decent roasted barley flavor, but not much else. Nothing really off in the flavor, but it's extremely subtle and one-dimensional. The flat watery mouthfeel really takes away from anything good this beer has going for it. I seem to remember this being even more boring off draught when I was at the NH brewery... Anyway, down the drain the second half of it goes, life is too short to drink boring beer.
