On nitro tap at Sly Fox Brewery (in Royersford) into a standard pint glass. Poured a with a creamy one-finger head which settled to creamy off-white coating. Lacing was abundant and lasting. Nose was some chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Taste was dry and moderately bitter, heavy roasted malts, grain some chocolate, and burnt coffee. Mouthfeel was light, very creamy and well-carbonated. I can’t remember the last time I had a beer that was 3.6% ABV but clearly you could down a few of these without damage. A decent offering but nothing I would go out of my way to have again.

A dark colored bodied Irish style stout with a creamy head and delicious roasted flavor. Very malty and somewhat bitter but not as dry like other non-oatmeal stouts. Very delicious and worth seeking out.

An excellent interpretation of a dry Irish stout. So much so, that I thought I was drinking a Guinness. Only O'Reilly's was a little bit drier with a noticeable semi-hop character. Good thick solid black hue, nice foamy tan cap on top, and big burnt roasted malt character make this micro a pleasure to drink. I must say that it was a little bit more harsh than Guinness, but is still a very drinkable brew.

08.03.05 Tap at JP Mac Grady’s. Near black, thin appearance, medium head fades to a ring. No lace. Aroma is light peat, mild coffee, burnt toast (white). Dry, leathery, raw peat, toasty grain. Pretty bland, but not a bad refresher. This was not served on nitro.

Pour a pitch black. The head was amazing, creamy which lasted throughout the beed. Lacing all the time. Roasted malt aroma. Slightly bitter coffee flavor. Nice dry finish.

Wowsers, the head was huge and lasted for a LONG time. The color was pitch black. The lacing was almost continuous, the best continuous blanket left on any glass I’ve ever had. The aroma was hard to pick up outside of roasted malts. The flavor was of burnt and lightly bitter coffee. The aftertaste was somewhat wood-like with coffee. The finish was dry and the mouthfeel smooth. A nice dry stout, but I’ll still take a fresh Guinness over this one.

Poured a dark brown color with nice foamy head that lasted throughout. Good lacing as well. Beautiful beer. There was a nice full taste, but just kind of bored me. Taste was roasted/burnt malt with very little else going on. I tasted nothing by way of chocolate or sweetness. Just OK.

For a dry stout this one impressed me. A dark black appearance with a moderate beige head. Some roasted malt, smoke, coffee, and dark chocolate flavors. It had a burnt aftertaste but not in a bad way. I liked it.

On tap at LV Brewfest. Poured dark black with a nice white head. Roasty. Subtle chocolate notes. Drinkable. Full bodied. Nice beer.
