Dark black with ruby red highlights, this Robust Porter is rich and complex. A blend of UK malts, chocolate rye and Belgian candi sugar provide a sweet chocolate, yet rich earthy quality. Malt forward with an aroma full of roasted malts, toffee and dark fruit, this National Homebrew Competition medal-winner is a great dessert beer or to pair with hearty foods. Happy brewing!

Pours barely translucent ruby-tinged cola brown with a thick and rather persistent light tan head. Aroma presents roast malt, molasses, nutty, chocolate and subtle caramel tones. Flavor is not quite as bold as the aroma, but still delivers pleasing roast malt, molasses, chocolate and caramel tones. Thick, viscous body has some decent fizz. Long live home-brew!

A brownish-black colored beer with a big sudsy testured tan-brown head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. A thin ringlet and light dusting of film are left. Light coffee nose. Stronger brew of coffee and dark lightly bittering chocolate. Sweet molassess is present and not overdone. Cram and smooth.

Bottle. Black pour with a medium, frothy brown head. Roasted malt, coffee notes, light briny aromas and faint cocoa in the nose. Taste is roasted malt, cold coffee, cocoa, soft hops and dark, bittersweet chocolate. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly and creamy carbonation. Finishes with more roasted malt, cocoa, coffee notes, dark, bittersweet chocolate and soft hops. Nice!
