Aroma is strong, malty and - ew, more than a bit skunky. It pours a clear straw yellow with a fluffy white head. Flavor is - uh, malty, just a little bit, barely distinguishable from water. Texture is thin and watery, just a little fizzy. Ugh. Well, the best way to appreciate good beer is to have a meh beer now and then.

Isn't this the beer Frazier's dad drank? Very light for an ale. nice golden color, with decent head, not much of an aroma. For a cheap ale it's fairly easy to drink as long as it's ice cold.

Since I hadn't had Ballantine sinc 1972, when I saw it on sale @ $4.99/sixer, I grabbed one, for nostalgia's sake. This might be the lightest ale I've ever tasted. So much so, I like it better in a pilsner glass. Hops are evident, but subtle, nicely balanced by the malt. For the price, a pretty nice "lawnmower" ale, clean, light, smooth, drink 'em all day and still be coherent. might be a decent "gateway ale," an introduction to ale for the light lager drinker... just enough complexity to distinguish it from the usual interchangable american lagers. BTW, still has the rebus puzzles under the caps, just like back in the day!

This isn't as bad as some previous reviewers would have you believe. Pours a golden yellow with a fleeting head. Mouthfeel a little thin for an ale, but reasonable. Noticable hop note, although not as sharp as I'd like. Overall worth a try.

"America's Largest Selling Ale" I would say is false advertising. Very light watered down taste. The bottle and label looks like a cheap 40. The slogan is the only reason I tried it.

I think this beer is why I don't consider the looks of a can or bottle art when selecting a beer. Well it did look interesting next to the alternatives at the stag party I was at. Light colored pale golden beer with a corn and maybe some grassieness to it. A Mellow and light ale on the (thin) side however. I have had worst ales for sure and much better.

Actually very decent, considering where it came from(miller)This should be drunk when in the mood. When I'm in the mood, I reach for this and tip it back. In fact, I'm having this right now!

Something, that I will never have again. Simply disgusting. I dont think it is really an ale. This is just a lager, that they have overhyped. Not reccomended to anyone.

But... I spotted a six pack of 40oz cans in the back of the fridge at the local grocery store and thought I would try something with a bit more value. For American macrobrew, it could certainly be worse... but not much worse. It wasn't offensive, like coors light or bud, but it wasn't that good either. It looked ok and didnt't smell too bad, but it was very bland and left me thinking, "why bother." I might as well spend a bit more and get something half-decent, rather than stomach 40 whole ounces of something that is best described as "half-bad." In short, if you chill the he!! out of the stuff and put it into a frosted mug, it's quite refreshing. But the fact that I am only half way through the six pack I bought almost two weeks ago is probably a pretty good indication of the quality of this brew.

clear yellow-orange colour, no head, candy sugar and light perfumy aroma, too much carbonation, bitter floral finish - not that bad for something "largest-selling"
