Its a normal looking pale ale with a lot of carbonation going on. Not quite medium bodied and a little tart taste in the finish. I could finish this beer and probably have another, but I will not seek it out. It is a dissapointment to me.

The beer pours yellow golden. There is not a lot of originality to this beer except that it has some grassie hops that are barely spicey. Nice lacing and some noticeable skunk to it. I would consider Amstel lager to be a drinkable beer in every way, but not outstanding in an equal way.

Almost Amber color. A Light body and moderate head to this Unfiltered beer. While the aroma is light, this unfiltered beer has a better look than it does feel. It offers some bitter cascade hops and descent caramel malts, but the honey flavor is almost not there. It has a fine, crisp flavor to it , but it is a tad thin for a wheat beer.

I have been drinking this beer for years and never actually stopped and reviewed it. It really is quite an original beer - with original style for me anyways. It is one of the reasons for me to become such a big beer fan. with such great color , body and taste. I may be alone in saying that I enjoy this beer as much as the extra stout, and see only suttle differences. A little less flaverand thickness than the stout version, but it is the original and gets makeup points for that.

A nice looking beer as are most darks to me. Yes there is some skunk to it, however, I like that flavor (at least once and a while). The flavor is without question improved over the regular Becks lager, having some caramel and flowery notes in it as well. If you like the original lager, most likely you be a fan of this one too.
