Fragrance and taste of the “yeast-cloudy” wheat beer are distinguished by a refined top-fermented flowery-yeast character and an unmistakable, distinct banana aroma. First sensation on the taste buds is full-bodied, very soft and mild with a lively, champagne-like sparkle. A light, typical wheat beer taste is expressed, the bitter tone of which can scarcely be detected. The sparklingly refreshing Ayinger Bräu-Weisse will impress every wheat beer connoisseur with the first mouthful.

Had this at a Flying Saucer establishment a few months ago and loved it. I am a big Paulaner Heffeweisen fan and was stunned to find something that made me want to switch from it, but I was ready. Yes I put a lemon in it so give me all of the criticism you want. Your typical appearance. A urine sample with a BAD bladder infection, but that is a heffe. But the smoothness is what gets me with Heffeweisens. No bitter finish. Can get my wife and other strictly lite beer drinker friends to try it and like it. Best one I have found so far.

Opaque golden yellow with decent lasting lacing white foam head. Aroma is citrus with vanilla tones, nice spicy. Good soft toned citrus taste, again vanilla taste. A very good Weisse. (Velp 201411)

A very refreshing hefeweizen that can be found at the local liquor stores. A cloudy light gold colour with a frothy white head. Lost of bubble gum, wheat, and spices in the aroma. Easy to drink with a fruity sweetness.

Pours a very cloudy light yellow that reminds me of pineapple/banana juice. Massive 3 finger off white head that lofts for a while. Nicely carbonated. Aroma is nice and lemony with hints of wheat and banana juice. Taste is very wheaty with hints of lemon, cloves, and fresh spring water. Finishes off fairly wheaty. Very good brew. Expect nothing less from Ayinger.

YUM! That is the best way to describe a tasty beverage like this. Hazy and or cloudy beer that doesn't look like it's been filtered. Big foamy head that hangs in there. Sure has the taste of wheat.

Poured a very fizzy large size head. Has a slightly hazy yellowish appearance. Has a yeasty aroma, fairly strong. Flavours are citrusy with hint of banana, and bready type taste. Very tangy I find for a wheat ale for mouthfeel. Somewhat bitter aftertaste, sort of sour/spicy. Carbonation is pretty active, some tingling on the palate. Still good, but not really for me.

1/2 liter bottle, 4 weeks dron rackin - I’ve sampled this, and other Ayinger beers, at beer festivals and tastings before and I’d rate this small independent Bavarian craft brewer to be one of the best in Germany (which is saying a lot) at consistently hitting the mark and exceeding the parameters and characteristics of the Teutonic beer styles. This particular Hefeweiss has all the bubble-gum, clove and banana esters and phenols in spades and the body and character of the beer is fairly robust for a wheat ale. Big fluffy cap, big flavour - deep fruitiness, some spice, low on noble hoppin but a nice malt mixture is evident without being cloying -, natural sparkling effervescence, quenching with a dry finish – a superior Hefe, if not the best.

The beer poured a hazed golden colour with a creamy snow white head that lingered. The aroma was light banana, spice, wheat and a wisp of citrus. The flavour is slightly sweet, and nicely balanced with the yeast notes and the wheat notes in harmony. -

Single bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy golden colour with a big white frothy head, disappearing slowly and leaving soapy lace. The carbonation in this one is quite intense and bubbles are bigger than usual. Beautiful banana nose with hints of cloves at first pour. After a bit, it turns to rusty water with citrus notes (going away from beautiful). Very nice creamy smooth mouthfeel. The taste is mild, with a nice balance between the bananas, wheat, vanilla and some citrus and spices. Becomes quite cloudy at the last pour. A really nice Hefe for those starting in the style, and refreshing, because of its mildness.

pours a golden yellow color with a fluffy white head with no lace left on the glass. The aroma is banana with some cloves. The taste is wheat and light white pepper, cloves, and bananas voids. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and is fully carbonated with a filling, crisp finish and slight lingering spiciness, Leaves you wanting another round and I think i will.

Comes out of the tap a hazy solar yellow with a thick white head that leaves some good lacing. Aroma strong, wheaty, lemony, and slightly sweet. Wheaty flavor has lemony and yeasty notes and just a hint of orange. Smooth, full-bodied, fizzy texture leaves a wheaty and lemony finish.
