Our SIXTEEN Anniversary Ale, due to hit shelves on May 1st 2009, is a product born of the spirit of experimentation and the dogged pursuit of perfection that has arisen within the walls of Avery Brewing Company. Ever on-the-prowl for new flavors and new ingredients, Avery brewers crafted SIXTEEN with a harmonious combination of jasmine, peaches and honey. These decidedly different flavors mix with the fruity, spicy flavors of a distinctive Belgian yeast strain into a massively estery and dry saison ale.

Pours a hazy lemon yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet fruit. Mouthfeel is tart. Flavor has floral, citrus, banana, pepper, lemon. Nice and light, very refreshing, interesting representation of the style.

Bottle: Poured a deep golden color ale with a large pure white frothy head with good retention and some pretty good lacing. Aroma of light jasmine and peach notes with some attenuated sweet Belgian malt. Taste is quite enjoyable with good notes of jasmine scent and light sweet peach ester with some well balanced sweet Belgian malt. Body is quite full with nice bottle conditioning and great carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Very well done is maybe lacking some funky notes, which I usually appreciate for the style.

Pours out in a clear stale golden colour with a minimal white head. No visible carbonation. Sweetish and dense aroma of mandarin, almonds paste, corn, sugar, mild menthol and grass. Nearly full-bodied with sticky sweet notes of mandarin, green bananas, corn, dough, crackers and white sugar. Warming, clean and sweet finish of banana, mandarin, peas and sugar with small notes of peppermint and leaves. This definitely lacks the characteristics of a real rural Saison. What a mess...

You avery haters baffle me....
Smells of lavender, fruit, yeast, Herbs and Spices. Pours a see through yellow with some white head. fantastic in your face carbonation that really works here. Finish is crisp and very clean. Flavor I admit was all over the place but still very refreshing a summery. Sweet peach, herbs, Yeast and honey.. Pretty cool beer if you ask me... and you DID!!!

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear very light yellow with a small white head that quickly goes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is very stinky earthy yeast.
The flavor is sweet vegetal malts with earthy yeast and spices and some fruits. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with very spritzy carbonation that makes me hiccup.
Overall, I didn't care for this at all. -

A decent brew from Avery, Aromas and flavors of honey, floral and fruit notes with some grass and yeast as well. A murky yellow/ orange body that left decent lace. Overall it was above average, but like RJA pointed out "Good drinking, not memorable".

This is a crystalline clear yellow colored ale. Moderate foamy white head. Settles quickly. No lacing, though. Lots of bubbles rising in the glass. Lightly floral, some fruit, some citrus. The body is light, though crispy. Strong honey and banana are in the tasting. Good, drinking. Not memorable..
