Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. Part of a holiday 6 pack. A beast of a beer. It pours a hazed golden-orange with a huge white head. Spices, yeast, and citrus dominate the aroma, but notes of candied fruit exist. The flavour starts out with a fruity sweetness, and has a bitter citrus finish with yeast and spice notes. Alcohol was detectable.

Pours a huge foamy bubbly head and dissipates rather quickly to a thin layer that leaves thick patchy lacing. Has a golden appearance. Yeasty, grainy and wheaty aromas. Some spices and resin hops as well. Has fairly fruity flavours, some mild citrus and herbal hops. Excessive carbonation. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Very good brew.

330 ml capped bottle. Poured in the original Augustijn chalice an unfiltered hazy amber-orange coloured BSA with a generous two fingers soapy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Sustained carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is strong fruity, green apples, bananas, pears, citrus. The flavour is sweety malts, yeast, spicy, pepper, fruity, apples, citrus. The mouthfeel is fizzy, sparkling, fulled and a bit sticky. This medium to full bodied BSA has a dry fruity finish. A Belgian Strong Ale on the sweety side.

I've never really understand what makes a beer a grand cru and not others. Anyway, this beer is a grand cru. A cloudy golden pour with a generous white head. Definite yeast in the aroma. Flavour is similar, very yeasty with grains and citrus. What were the Belgians thinking?

The beer poured a hazy golden yellow colour with a thick off-white head that lasted. The aroma was grains, light floral scents, citrus, and yeast. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium-high carbonation...kind of surprising. The flavour is citrus, grains, yeast...and quite acidic. Not as good as their donker. Alcohol can certainly be tasted. -

330 ml stubby bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 9%. Golden colour, huge and lasting white head. Very nice initial fruity and spicy aroma, loses some its impact after a couple minutes in the glass. The flavour is sweet and spicy with noticeable hops, but the alcohol is not too well hidden. Could have been better, could have been worse.

Clear champagne looking with tons of bubbles floating to surface, a tall fluffy white cap sits on top. Soft smelling malts with mild spice, along with some wet freshly cut wood. Taste is very similar to the aroma but add sour in the finish with some ginger. Apple and wheat start to show up when beer got warm the beer also got thicker when that happened. Not bad I guess drinkable but completely average and forgettable.

This one pours as a light hazy, orange colored ale. There’s a big tightly-bubbled soapy off-white head. A tinge of orange noted. There is lumps of suds left when the head settles. Really good hang time on this one. Strong aromas of sweetness, caramel, fruit. There’s lots of carbonation to this one. Adds something positive to an otherwise light body. Citrus, esters, caramel all jumbled onto the palate. Not bad.

Draught. A bit hazy yellow/golden colour with small, but longlasting white head. Aroma is strong citrus with hints of spices and yeast. Very sweet citrus (blood orange meets lemon and lime) flavour with some malty hints. Lots of fruit in aftertaste.
